Australia Day honours list 2019

The Australia Day honours recipients were announced today with many for contributions to television, radio and print media. Honours for distinguished service went to Kylie Minougue and Magda Szubanski who were made officers in the Order of Australia (AO) while Dennis Cometi and Jon Faine were made members of the Order of Australia. Others in the media to be honoured included Walkley winning reporter Adele Ferguson, ABC financial journalist Alan Kohler as well as prolific TV producer Anita Jacoby, now members of the Order of Australia (AM).

Congratulations to all the honorees.
Normally the honours list is announced at midnight AEDT on January 26. Seems that this year News Corp broke the embargo, posting an article at Herald Sun website at around 11pm last night (Friday January 25), then the other media outlets followed suit.

Has an OAM. These people are nominated by the public, so go ahead and nominate.
