I agree. I’ve always hated that saying. Townsville Best Rock sounded better.
I had a bit of a listen online and I heard them say Music that Rocks as well a Better Music & More of It.

Sadly it probably means a gradual change away from their rock format. I give it 6 months and they’ll be on the River/Zinc log.

I really hope not

Produced and presented by Hobart 7HO Breakfast Newsreader Britt Aylen, the series can be heard each Friday morning across ARN’s Tasmanian stations, with each 20-minute episode also available as a weekly podcast.

That is going to be one stronger reason how/why ARN can better integrate the iHeart brand with their radio stations. It sounds much better to the listener calling a program, “iHeart Tassie” as opposed to if SCA did it, it’d likely be “LiSTNR Tassie”.

Given the history of Tasmanian radio, I wonder if there’ll be any arguments - i.e. from Triple M (formerly Heart107.3)?

It would be a shame if that happened,

ARN changed Hot Tomato. So they’ll likely change Power100 as well.

I suppose if you wanted to be very positive about it, using a generic positioner like that gives them more options to network the Power100 format than the ‘Townsville’ one.

Better Music and More of It is the positioner for the Pure Gold Network. Could ARN be considering moving these Power fm stations in this direction?

Maybe the rock format is too niche, and with Better Music abs More of It they can go broader to better compete with Triple M. Admin wise one less log to produce.

Given Hot Tomato’s shift to be treated like their ARN metro sister stations, www.1029.com.au has been given a facelift - similar to the metro ARN stations.

With the recent rollout of ARN Regional new look websites, it’s a wonder why the entire metro & regional networks didn’t get websites that look the same.

Also the Kix Country Website has been updated. Early this month i’m pretty sure

I hope not. If Power 100 went in this direction, they would sound to similar with Triple M Townsville music wise. Townsville already has this problem with Star and Hit sounding very similar with each other. This would totally stuff up the radio landscape in Townsville.

It’s happening already ,there’s already similarity to what songs Power 100 and Triple M play.it wasn’t like this even 5-10 years ago :-1:

Well almost every other radio landscape is stuffed up so why not Townsville too! :mask:

They don’t have a commercial radio station that plays classic hits anymore ,(60s and 70s music)there might be a community radio station that does though

Yes in a way perhaps Mackay and Cairns are better off with 4MK/4CA still on AM.

Yes they are ,4MK play lots of old 70s tunes ,some 60s, not much though

And they still have their heritage call signs too, unlike Townsville

Even now a lot of the music with the AM’s crosses over with Triple M.
As I always said, this 2 station rule has killed radio for us listeners over Australia.
