True. Grants are a good disrupter in SCA markets, but on their own, they’re annoying.
That’s truly terrible, playing the same song as your sister station. The overlaps with playlists in adjacent markings are bad enough but that is awful.
There’s also the River log which is also on Bay, 3BA, LAFM/7SD, 7XS and Mix Darwin.
I think the 7HO log would be a good option for an alternate modern sounding log.
That would have also been the case in Launceston and Darwin. Fortunately not too many of their markets, but still lazy scheduling. Especially with so few logs in the network it wouldn’t be hard to at least compare logs to avoid such clashes. Even better create a bit more separation between them.
Both LAFM & Mix 104.9 had their morning talk programs at that time, so this meant that only Chilli & Hot 100FM were playing the Fall Out Boy song at that time in their respective markets.
I think the 7HO log would be a good option for an alternate modern sounding log.
The 7HO log was used in Nowra by Power fm first up after they changed from being a CHR station. They then dropped that log and it was picked up by Wave fm briefly.
Wave fm then dropped that log and joined Power fm on the main Today’s Best Music log used across all the other Hot AC stations.
The other option would be to put Power Fm Nowra back onto the 7HO log and run the two logs 7 days a week outside of Saturday night Throwbacks.
The Crystal & Brady show is no more.

Must be a painful decision to leave what you love to work in a different sector for more rewarding remuneration.
The short sighted decision to make redundant station programmer Garrath Cockerell has resulted in quite the staff retention slide with no local programming leadership.

I am following josh ex from power FM and he indicated the reason why he left radio for real estate is that commercial radio is a shrinking industry. must be something in the waters at power FM for Maddie to leave.
… and in the waters at 98.1 PowerFM too.
Very hard for the young ones to have a long term career. Also seems like Grant are gradually heading towards the network hub model especially for its CHR stream. Eventually I wouldn’t be surprised if they voice track shifts for Power Ballarat from Geelong or Sunny Coast.
network hub meaning like how Hit FM and triple mmm are?? the news is coming from Geelong anyways after 10 am on weekdays and every hour on the weekends. I know this because I follow one of the newsreaders for 3ba and power FM Ballarat and he’s in and from Geelong

Low salaries. Regional radio careers are often shortlived, although Jules should be back soon and she has been at Power for around 14 years I think
He also said (in a now removed post) that it was due to an abusive boss who treated him and other staff poorly.
ohook.wonder if he got told to remove it from the higher-ups at power FM
also said (in a now removed post) that it was due to an abusive boss who treated him and other staff poorly.
This has been a long running theme via different bosses at Ballarat. I wonder why?
