The Bauer purchase of Pacific Magazines is looking increasingly shaky, with some speculation that Bauer Media Australia might be put into administration which would then scupper the deal.

The report says Bauer is considering temporary suspension of print magazines including Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.

Things not looking great at Bauer. It’s not identified the magazine titles suspended. I suspect the big end titles like Women’s Weekly, Woman’s Day and TV Week will continue

I can understand some of the fashion and lifestyle titles being suspended for a while since there won’t be anything to cover for quite a while.

SMH reports Bauer has suspended printing of Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, OK! and NW.

What a way to get sacked.

Bindi Irwin’s husband has walked out on her New Idea is proclaiming.

But today she posted photos of them happily together.

The New Idea story is actually about him packing his shopping bags! Their headline is garbage, and so is the story.

Very dodgy, even by the standards of New Idea!

Peter Ford has a lot of faith in New Idea’s gossip. Do they really on teh same fiction writers for their entertainment news. :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad they’d rather sell it off than shut the whole thing down as they did in NZ.

Hopefully they can find a buyer looking to grow the business rather than managing to shut everything down

According to The Daily Telegraph, Bauer chief executive Brendon Hill yesterday addressed staff and confirmed which titles would be on hold until at least September. Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Instyle, Men’s Health, Women’s Health and Good Health will be available online only as will NW and OK!.

You’d think the Health magazines would be viable at this time.

Magazine veteran Nene King has been fired from her column in New Idea during the budget cuts at Bauer.
