This was up at the wind farm but still, it demonstrates the potential for co-channel interference in some parts of the Goulburn licence area.

Is that the Crookwell Wind Farm?
Yes. Also had 102.5 Bega with RDS.
Forgot to mention that there is now IMD on 102.1 from the new ABCRN service+ 103.7 Eagle FM. Only very local to the town centre though; I was able to hear 2JJJ Newcastle at the wind farm quite clearly, as well as (s)hit 101.3. The 101.3 mixing products are as bad as ever.
Hence why it should never have been allocated.
The local IMD in Crookwell is typical of the engineering lack of prowess within Kevin’s stations.
Janet needs to offer her own staff to fix those sites. It is a JV after all.
2ST are now running a competition from today in relation to the shutdown of its AM service, giving listeners the chance to win $999. That means the FM conversion of its main Nowra service isn’t too far away.
As of this morning, 2ST’s 91.7 service is still transmitting out of Huskisson. I’m leaving later this morning after having spent the past week on holiday down there.
I heard a rumor over the weekend that Triple M in Griffith and Wagga will be converting to FM.
Does anyone know if this is true or not?
If that rumour is true, then hopefully Triple M in Mt Gambier follows suit.
Yes got it this morning from the car park at North Cronulla Beach car park.
I wonder when they will shut down 91.7 Huskisson and start the tests from Cambewarra?
I assume the test will involve shutting off Huskisson and a quick switch on at Cambewarra to minimise disruption to listeners.
These are solo markets so they are eligible. I wonder how long it will take ACMA to get to them?
I thought SCA decided not to in those 2 markets due to coverage out in the country areas.
As for 2ST what’s the bet they test Cambewarra at night? Switching off Huskisson at certain times at night to test won’t cause interference and I doubt many down there would be listening at night.
The ACMA guidelines state “We may consider allowing continued simulcasting of AM and FM radio services on a case-by-case basis”. Could SCA be thinking of an FM-AM simulcast for Griffith and Wagga Wagga?
A simulcast would be the best thing to do in those areas. The AM signals are far better than FM.
I’d say SCA would want some return to the recent repairs to 1152. I doubt they’d take the tower down only a couple of years after they replaced it.
Ah the Sunk Cost Theory.
Regardless of what they spent on their AM site previously, the opportunity to convert to FM is far more valuable provided that it doesn’t dramatically reduce the number of people their signal reaches.
SCA don’t own or operate any transmitters any more, Broadcast Australia own them & will be paying all costs for conversion.
According to an on-air promo just aired on its Shoalhaven feed (this obviously doesn’t air on its 102.9 Highlands feed) via its online stream, 2ST will switch on its new 91.7 Cambewarra Mountain transmitter on Monday 1st February, with the 999AM signal to be shut down by the end of February.
I wonder when the Huskisson freq will be shutdown. Will anyone in that area be adversely affected as a result?
I think it will shut down overnight on the night of 31 January-1 February, with the new FM transmitter to be switched on in the morning of Monday 1st February.
There would probably be minor signal loss, but it should still be well received in the Jervis Bay & St Georges Basin area.
I was thinking they would need to turn it off periodically between now and 1 Feb so they can test 91.7 from Cambrewarra?
