Nouvelle Caledonie 89.0 La 1ere is in ATM for past hour, but oddly the only NCL outlet in.
Guess it would be Mont Aoupinie, based on power & site height.
Also enhanced reception from Mackay/Rocky direction via Rob’s TEF server.
The Sunshine Coast TEF seems overall more sensitive than before; sub metro stations like Radio Logan are now an easy copy. Not sure what has been done to the setup but thanks.
Given that DX is fairly pedestrian from here most of the year, it’s good to have some remote DXing options.
A node to get the Bight tropo would be good, calling @Informer in Bunbury and any South Australian DXers?
NCL coming in again. But now multiple sites including within the capital Nouméa with 100.4 & 97.4MHz - amazing!
So far late this arvo: 89.0, 90.0, 92.5, 95.0, 97.4. 100.0, 100.4 & 102.0MHz.
It’s quite fun to tune into the remote tuners when someone else is on there - they do the dial-fiddling for you seeking the DX, so you can just sit back and listen with zero effort.
Perfect, as long as they’re chasing what you would be
Ahhh if only I could retire at my age of 35 and live a life fishing at Elliston, one of my favourite holiday spots as a youngster and a good DXing spot from what I remember when I was a radio-geeky 12yo would be a perfect location for such a nodal quest (as opposed to noble quest)
Now hearing from NCL La 1ere 89.0 & Djiido 97.0MHz, the later being a first time catch.
Odd that 93.0 or 101.0 not being heard from same site, but such is the nature of propagation…
Perhaps it is just a general level of enhancement for several days.
Even DAB has been coming in stronger than usual from the Gold Coast in Brisbane. I could drive around the bayside area this morning with Zinc and Wide Bay commercials at RDS levels.
The best I can deduce from NCL DX reception.
These locations in at the moment via SC TDF:
Noumea, Dumbea (Mont Koghis), Mt Do & earlier Mont Aoupine
Reception of La 1ere on 90.0 briefly rose to RDS PI code level.
Amazing troposcatter visible on Brisbane BOM radar at present - clear cloudless sky in Brisbane at present. The give away is the radial presentation of the echo returns. This is similar to what you see if there is an interference source in the radar band. The maintenance window mentioned in the notice at the top is for 2/9-6/9 not tonight
From Rob’s TEF server:
Managed a RDS PI decode of 95.1 Triple M Gladstone reached an hour or so earlier.
The 200W ABC Gladstone outlets were received. eg 93.5, 95.9 & 96.7MHz.
88.3 & 89.9 Mirimvale still in.
Other notable reception this morning was 90.7 Crow FM & currently 94.3 4ABCRN & 97.5 4TAB Blackwater.
NCL still in on 100.0MHz. 89.1 Kingaroy in at RDS levels.
No reception of Norfolk Is this end at the times checked. Anyone have any luck?
