Thanks. 20mins ago had a mystery very weak signal on 91.7 & also very weak & brief 90.7 ABC Classic, that’s either SA or QLD, nothing else happening since…
UPDATE: Townsville now in weak, 102.3 very brief followed by weak, fleeting Mackay, all rather ho-hum…
UPDATE2: WSPR Net showing 144MHz contact between Bris/Adelaide area.
And at 1pm AEST Perth - Adelaide on 2meters.
Did you get 93.1 Wagga at all or was it blocked by another station being received like 3SBSFM Melbourne knowing the locations mentioned?
big opening to QLD here but cut short due to local storm activity. Noted nice FM from Brisbane incl 97.3 & B105. 101.9 was a mix of Mackay & Maryborough. heard an ID for My 105 (105.9 Mackay). But mostly was a wild goose chase with most signals fading out quickly before I could get IDs.
Oh - and received another car mp3 transmitter on 106.0 playing kids music
I only received 88.3 and 89.1.
On 93.1 I was receiving Magic from SA.
Only other SpE DX received this afternoon whilst in was 91.5 Gympie in early arvo.
Followed 10 minutes later with 91.1 & 91.9 Sunshine Coast
At 4.15pm receive 94.3 Townsville again.
Every catch was very weak, fleeting & brief. Probably 91.5 was briefly the strongest weak signal with some announcements for Gympie businesses, other than that catch DX was bit of a yawn .
The Sydney ionosonde of BOM’s Space Weather Services has been off-air since late Dec.
These were the stations I noted in today’s opening. There are more on the “tape” I haven’t had time to check.

Hamilton, NZ in now:
89.0 Free FM (no troublesome 2RSR splatter), 91.4 RNZ Concert & 103.4FM.
Generally weak or brief fleeting reception.
Auckland FM in here (Cooma NSW) up to 101.4
Hamilton made a nice appearance on 91.4
Getting some random talkback on 100.5 in Brisbane. Can’t for the life of me find the station. It’s Australian.
Edit: never mind, neighbours FM transmitter for their car
Dammed nuisance aren’t they
I use the IF Spectrum view on SDR# when looking for DX.
These car transmitters are usually always off centre frequency - a dead giveaway for me if using an SDR with that software.
BTW: FMDX: Getting 90.0 RNZ Concert from Southand - weak & in/out frequently right now.
Yet another car mp3 transmitter. Did miss a bit of this as I thought it was just QRM. Was strong 20dB/S9 at first. Occasional GPS voice.
QLD fm dx in 94.3 4PNN etc
Hobart and Central Victoria into Brisbane.
Edit - still going, shifting towards SA
big Es to QLD & NCL
2 highlights = 92.5 4SB/t & 104.9 Sunshine FM
New Caledonia into Moss Vale
RFO 89.0, 90.0
100, 100.4 playing Eric Clapton
102.0 playing Reggae
Also Townsville, Emerald
Also for good measure, yesterday a New Zealand dxer received 90.9 2PNN Illawarra
Yes exactly same here & still in.
Also 97.4 & 100.4 (these two might be a tougher challenge for you with 97.3 & 100.3)
Am (was) also receiving a couple of seconds of 95.0 now and again. Can only assume this is Oceane FM, which I’ve never heard before, but is extremely tentative.
Some odd reception with 93.5 Eagle FM coming in for short periods…
I had Hit 102.5 Mt Isa on the car radio near Temora on the way to Griffith yesterday around 3:30pm SpE opening.
