Qld Es today was very strong here. 102.3 Townsville with RDS for over an hour. Cairns ABCs and Kool FM also at strong levels for a long time. Gladstone and Rockhampton made a brief appearance at RDS level but only lasted for about 10 minutes. I wonder how strong my reception could have been if I had a proper setup since I could only use the DTV antenna at my accommodation in Sydney.

Seems like there is some tropo right now in Sydney. ABC Classic 98.7 at 30dBuv. Newcastle FMs and port Stephens FM 100.9 at RDS level. Weak triple J on 99.9

Good stuff! Yes the Hepburn maps are showing some tropo for tonight, though mostly coastalā¦I will do some DXing after dinner and report back.

Getting Hit/Triple M Coffs, 106.7 MMM Kempsey down to ABCs at Batemans Bay. Taree to Wollongong including Sydney is particularly strong.

Getting more Nth Coast, heard 2PM & 2WAY Port Macquarie, 2NVR Nambucca Heads, 2RE Forster over Campbelltown, 2GF Grafton though weak and got 106.3 Triple M RDS for the first time here too.
Had 105.1 Hit Kempsey over ABC RN and 99.5 Coffs RN over Move as well. Triple J Taree giving Coast FM grief too.
Edit: Now have Rhema Port Macquarie 99.9 in a null of SWR Blacktown.
Edit 2: Another first time catchā¦ 100.1 2RE Gloucester, 2HHH Hornsby gone AWOL for now. Was very weak but matched 100.3 2RE.

JJJ Coffs 91.5 strong in Sydney now. ABC Classic 98.7 now at 40 dBuv. Mount Dowe FMs also stronger.

Conversely, its been difficult to get anything much from inland here into Newcastle tonight. Been nearly all coastal stuff, but quite good just the same.
But am just now getting Orange ABCs on 101.9, 102.7 and 104.3, plus Mt Dowe 96.7 (all of their other frequencies are blocked here).

You must get 99.1 2UUS/t strong then? How about 100.7, when not occupied by Port Macquarie? 2WOW is the muddiest of all the Sydney sub metros from my experience.
No Ea today though 6m was open to South Australia for hours. 5CC was into Sydney very briefly on 93.9 but that was it.

Yeah, 99.1 2UUS/t usually 10-15dbuv or better here. Still in glorious mono too!
100.7 is often blank, itās my next best hope for Mt Dowe after 96.7. But usually have 2WOW Penrith before that. But i have received RN Mt Dowe a few times, as well as 99.1 and 99.9 when theyāre strong enough to break through weaker 2UUS/t and 2SWR signals.
Never had 101.5 News here though, 2GLA just too good.
As for the weakest sub Sydney itās a battle between 2WOW and 2RSR Skid Row, but a persistent 2RE makes it difficult to get a true gauge on it.

Seems to be picking up with the commercials plus Sky from Mt Dowe. 2CBD very strong from Glenn Inness.
Last night enhancement was very strong; received 50w Rebel from Cunungra over the usual Cooloola Coast at this location.

Iām actually on a lower floor but I am using the hotels DTV antenna system. It seems to be working pretty well even though itās the wrong type of antenna.

Iāve been busy with other things to post earlier, but NEW FM has been very weak in parts over the weekend in the car around Bennets Green/Belmont/Floraville & even up towards Charlestown (North of Gateshead), it was also very weak South of Swansea in the car this morning, must be getting co-channel from Wollongong, strong enough to interfere but not override it?
Triple J Taree majorly interfering with Coast FM this morning all the way into Sydney, I couldnāt put up with it any longer, so changed stations at Gordon as I didnāt want to listen to Triple J interfering & coming over the top.

Iāve never had any issues with Wollongong interfering with NEW FM here at Charlestown.
Which is somewhat ironic, as Iāve had Bowral/Wollongong interfere with the SCA pair.

Saw your video of ROX FM* Kempsey; impressive to get it with RDS in Sh!tney.
Might be worthwhile going down to somewhere like Alexandria Parade, South Coogee if the enhancement continues, though it will probably fade tonight as the next trough/cool change stormy complex arrives. Alexandria Parade is excellent for North Coast reception; itās the only place Iāve logged 107.9 Radio Dungog and Max 107.3 in Sydney as you can null western signals almost completely due to the cliff face. Even 96.1 Lismore might be possible there.
Here is a bandscan from Alexandria Parade done several years ago with strong North Coast tropo. This was just on the car radio; a TEF would produce even better results including probably a complete null of 2SER to get Max:
