I caught a few seconds of suspected NCL on 90.0MHz not long ago.
WSPR showing multiple 6m paths atm in the region.
The Brisbane QTH ASWFC Ionogram Viewer displayed a peaked SpE event at 22UTC.
Might also be worth keeping an eye on frequencies like 94.3 Townsville etc.
Had a station on 88.2 that I donât usually receive with these openings, wasnât able to ID - is there a New Cal possibility? Will have to check the âtapesâ later.
Same here, 106.7 with Cricket over 2ST
Also 105.9, 107.5
92.3, 93.1 Ayr
Nearly all Townsville Frequencies including the ABC service on 91.1
NewsRadio on 96.7
100.1 Clairview
Charters Towers on 95.9
Emerald Briefly on 90.7, 93.9, 94.7
Collinsville on 90.1
Heading the completely other direction, 95.5 Classic FM from Kalgoorlie is being received on my node right now. Coming in at weak to fair strength with stereo, the only way I worked it out was cross referencing with the livestream set to WA.
EDIT: Triple J 98.7 is also coming in, abiet weakly along with Radio National.
88.2 will have to remain a mystery. Only received at that time and was playing some percussion music.
At the same time as receiving New Cal on various frequencies also received SBS at good strength on 92.3 (over the top of 2 semi locals) for about an hour. The program start time coincided with the SA schedule for SBS. There are 2 lower power SBS stations at Angaston and Roxby Downs. Unfortunately wasnât home when recorded and the band recording only went up to 93 MHz so could check any colocated stations.
Now receiving Triple J 98.1 from Northam WA, confirmed by checking both the livestream and the nearest node in Waikiki. Again its weak, but I managed to snag a recording of it as well.
Works out to be 2330km distance total, a new record for me
Given that you had outback SA my money is on a pirate somewhere around Roxby Downs, Woomera etc. There was a Brisbane pirate on 88.2 some years back but hasnât been heard for a long time; in any case that would be permanent if on.
NZ coming in now into Brisbane. Seems to be Palmerston Nth stations; good signals at times but variable. 89.0, 91.4, 92.2 (just), 93.0, 93.8. 96.2, 97.0, 97.8
