The AFL should have done what the NRL did. Gradually expand the competition, not have every single team have a AFLW team in a space of a few years. Let those who didn’t have teams build up their development pathways. Not rely so much on players coming across from other sports.
Exactly. And relying on the teams that did want to have a team at the start to raid for players and not allowing them to get anything back for that early support.

Richmond claimed the biggest upset of the season so far with a 11 point win over Adelaide at Ikon Park this afternoon. It is also the Tigers’ first win of the season.
North Melbourne extended their unbeaten record to 20 matches and remain on top of the ladder, with Melbourne and Hawthorn equal second.

North Melbourne dominated this afternoon’s match against St Kilda at North Hobart Oval, winning by 46 points. The result means the Kangaroos’ winning streak is now at 23, equalling Geelong men’s team’s VFL record set in 1952-53.
