Nah, but she might have been to a different one although I did hear later in the arvo that she had given up her seat. Jeremy Rockliff posted a picture from Molly Malones in Devonport which is a pub right next door to where the Devonport launch was so he was definitely close to the action - he and Peter Gutwein would have been treated as heroes though had they gone.
Can’t wait for this one to come back and bite too!

All seriousness, welcome to the big game. Hope the Tassie team overall is successful. Everyone down in Tassie have fought hard for it, and looks like everyone is supporting it so far (apart from a certain political party and 2 ex-liberals who shall remain nameless ).

They just posted an update - over 40,000 members already in only 2 and a half hours. I was hoping for about 50,000 by the election day.

I’m not one to outwardly show emotion but even I’m feeling this and I’ve never been that excited about things until this past year and now seeing it all launched and flooding all my social media stuff, it’s really making me feel quite proud.

Hopefully Rebecca White and the ALP backs down if she wants any chance of winning on Saturday. If she keeps it up, could be a repeat of 2012 in Queensland (Labor with the absolute bare minimum).
Just out of curiosity, @ando9185 what is Jacqui Lambie and her party’s stance on the AFL team and stadium.
I was hoping she’d backed off from her stance of “shove it up your bum” as their petition was removed from their website and they were quiet about it but now it seems to be that the candidates get to choose… but I get the feeling that they won’t actually get that choice when it comes because Lambie has still been very vocal against it and has moved to “Jeremy can shove it up his clacker”.

Less than 24 hours and over 100,000 members. Of course many of the anti-stadium people are banging on about how they support a team but not the stadium or of course at $10 there are memberships and even claims that people are buying them for dead relatives and pets. Either way, it’s given me a fair bit of confidence for Saturday’s election.
Also - I made my 3 seconds of fame in Mitch Cleary’s report in the Melbourne news at 6:52pm.

Grant O’Brien cleared up quite a bit of that today. Apparently Google saved the day - once Warner Brothers found out the Tasmanian Devil was an actual animal things got a lot easier. No idea what they thought beforehand! Apparently they’ve come to an arrangement with joint IP - no contracts required and no money changing hands as they’re two separate entities.
Apparently the Tasmania vs Tasmanian is not because of that. It’s because the other teams are for example the Tasmania Jack Jumpers or Melbourne Demons (not Melbournian Demons).
With the T logo, while I was surprised they still used that it’s been made pretty clear that’s just our heritage jumper. There will be others used and considering we’re not going onto the field for several years there will be better ones. Even if it was just swapped with the Devil logo that would make a huge difference IMHO.
I feel like I’ve had 20,000 friends at least! Definitely a lot more than that but many did buy multiples for their families - so I bought 4. Either way it’s impressive.
Just the usual - wanted transparency from the government but now won’t say anything about negotiating through media and “of course the AFL would say they won’t renegotiate when it’s an election week and they can feel a change in the air”.
As for Lambie, the more she opens her mouth the more disappointed I get.

The more I hear her speak, the more I laugh at the ridiculousness at what she says, as well as her ability to turn an interview into a angry rant that’s borderline comedic.

Yeah I heard this one and was very confused - I thought it was a sarcastic answer at first, because it sounds very combative outside the context of that somehow they didn’t know that?

Yeah, I thought it had to be a joke too but it was created in 1954 and really hasn’t been around in much for the last 20 or so years like most of the Looney Tunes characters so I thought it could actually be plausible… which made me rather depressed!
