3AW will cover seven matches this Easter long weekend.

In particular, it will have its own call of West Coast v Sydney on Saturday evening, rather than taking the 6PR feed. 6PR’s Mark Foreman (son of the late Wally Foreman) will be boundary reporter for 3AW’s broadcast.

On Easter Monday, 3AW football EP Meg McDonald and Sam Docherty will provide expert commentary for Hawthorn v Geelong.

There is no AFL on ABC News Radio Sydney or Canberra tonight… I thought they usually broke away from regular programming for this?

Are you streaming? It’d be on ABC Sport stream.

If not, very odd considering they spelled it out.

On ABC NewsRadio: ACT and NSW from 7:00pm AEDT

No, on analogue… 630am Sydney and 103.9 FM Canberra.

Might be a switching issue as last week I briefly heard AFL on Radio National on regional NSW stations, but this got switched back to regular programming quickly.

On Saturday, Essendon v Melbourne will receive ABC’s terrestrial radio coverage, including ACT, despite its coverage running 15 minutes into Sydney v Gold Coast.

North Melbourne v Brisbane, theoretically a more competitive matchup and will definitely meet the endtime, is relegated to ABC NewsRadio QLD.

SEN celebrates Gather Round with wall-to-wall coverage

Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is once again gearing up for another huge Gather Round, delivering comprehensive coverage of the AFL’s showpiece Round 5 fixture across radio, digital and on‑ground activations.

Across five days, SEN will broadcast an extraordinary 100 hours of live AFL content, beginning from 9am on Wednesday, April 8, through to the final siren of the final match of the round on Sunday, April 12, ensuring footy fans everywhere are immersed in Gather Round from start to finish.

SEN will again establish a major live broadcast hub on Station Road outside SkyCity, right on the edge of the Adelaide Oval precinct, with fans invited to come down, interact with talent and experience SEN’s live coverage across the week. For fans who can’t get to the games over the weekend, SEN will host watch parties from the Tyrepower Stage on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Hosted by Brodie Smith (Sunday) and John Casey (both days), fans can watch all the action from the Essendon v Melbourne game at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, and the GWS v Richmond game from Barossa Park on Sunday.

Gather Round will also mark the launch of Fireball merchandise, with fans able to purchase exclusive SEN and Fireball caps from the SkyCity outside broadcast site throughout the week. Merchandise will include Fireball hats featuring slogans well known to regular listeners: ‘Get Up Early, Do The Work’, ‘6:01’, ‘Guts Up Cup’, ‘Baller’ and ‘D.G.B.B.W.Y.K’.

The SkyCity activation will feature live broadcasts, merchandise, giveaways, games, prizes and ticket opportunities, with a range of SEN partners activating across the week including Heinz, Toyota, Mega Rewards, Tasmania Devils Football Club and Mildura Base Public Hospital.

The AFL Record and its Metricon branded team of sellers will also team up to activate throughout Gather Round, with celebrity guest Metricon AFL Record sellers to be spotted around the precinct selling a special Gather Round edition of the AFL Record. The Gather Round The Clock content commitment kicked off with an outside broadcast from Revo Fitness Angle Vale this morning.

SEG Chief Executive, Craig Hutchison, said Gather Round had become one of the biggest weeks on the AFL calendar, and SEN was proud to once again deliver unmatched coverage.

“Gather Round has quickly become one of the great festival events in Australian sport, and SEN is thrilled to be right at the centre of it,” Hutchison said.

“From broadcasting every game live, to delivering more than 100 hours of content from the heart of Adelaide, we’re giving footy fans access, atmosphere and insight wherever they are. We’d love fans to come down to SkyCity, take in the shows, and be part of what is set to be a huge week of football.”

For some reason, Triple M has listed its call teams for Collingwood v Fremantle AND last week’s Adelaide v Fremantle this Friday, and repeated the mistake for Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

On Saturday afternoon, North Melbourne v Brisbane will be broadcast live into Brisbane, while the other stations will cover Essendon v Melbourne.

So very exact :joy:

1200-1445 AFL – Round 5 – North Melbourne v Brisbane from Barossa Park
1445-1600 AFL – Round 5 – Essendon v Melbourne from Adelaide Oval

Isn’t 5AA limited to 4 out-of-market matches each round?

They are all in Adelaide, so probably not “out of market”

What I was referring to is matches not involving Crows or Power.

Speaking of which, I think this is a typo because they are not going to spend 3 hours to build up to such a match.

1200-1820 AFL – Round 5 – Greater Western Sydney v Richmond from Barossa Park

Checking on SEN’s schedule. Apparently Collingwood v Fremantle will be heard on Sydney 1170 and Gold Coast 1620.

Yep, they’ll join in progress after their NRL coverage. They have rights to the 6pm NRL game but not the 8pm except in Brisbane where they can air the 8pm game as “Broncos Radio”.

Mitch Turner is calling the game with Braden Ingram, with expert comments by Rod Jameson and Stephen Williams, and Vicki Schwarz on the boundary.

Mitch’s Perth colleague Clint Wheeldon commentated Collingwood v Fremantle alongside Corbin Middlemas last night.

FiveAA produced their own call for North vs Brisbane with 3AW not taking the game.

I believe it was Sam Tugwell and Matt Crouch calling.
