Only just saw this, but why against another club?
An Indigenous All Stars vs Other (ie non Indigenous) All Stars would be a great spectacle.

Always been this way.
Damn, lowering his club salary must be hitting hard if he needs to get a totally irrelevant job…
Are the AFL going to investigate this (and Bailey Smith’s Geelong deal given he’s linked with Cotton On) or is going to be swept under the carpet?
Tonight’s 7News Melbourne aired Mitch Cleary’s chat with Chris Scott.
Chris Scott has hit back at anyone suggesting his new role with a major club sponsor is a soft cap scam. The Geelong coach was today appointed in a senior gig as he prepares to welcome Bailey Smith down the highway. He’s not exactly going to admit it now is he
The AFL is planning to release the 2025 fixture in mid November, but in the meantime, requests from various clubs have begun to leak out.
Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan has confirmed he has given his premiership medal to Oscar McInerney.
According to the Herald Sun’s Jay Clark, the Blues are hoping to avoid a road-heavy schedule in the early part of next year which is part of the reason why they have told the league they would prefer to start their 2025 season in the traditional season-opener against Richmond at the MCG.
Yet every interstate team is forced to make multiple trips all over the country each year?
And? They joined the competition knowing what they would need to do.
Still a bit rich of Carlton to ask to travel interstate less often.
I think they’re just asking for it to be spread out more?
Travel is going to become the next tension point between the clubs and the league - nearly every club has some kind of beef about it (even if its Collingwood not wanting to go the other side of the Hoddle Grid to Docklands)
I thought that was Richmond? Then veteran coach Hardwick’s infamous comments when questioned about the crowds or lack there of at a time when they were on top: “We hate coming here [Marvel Stadium], nobody likes coming here, the MCG has soul…”
Now they have the Hardwick Curse
Collingwood are attempting to move one of their Marvel games to Queensland to avoid a 4km away trip
To be fair, Marvel is a hole.
Not so marvellous then?
The redevelopment might help?
The redevelopment only helps when you’re outside the stadium - you don’t really feel it inside. And even then, it hasn’t helped that the concourses are very cramped getting in and out before a match, it just looks a little nicer.
Marvel’s still better than the MCG when it has 20,000 or something…
