With episodes spanning Canada, Mexico and the United States, Adam reveals how fans express their passion not just through team colours, but through the flavours they share and celebrates how food, sport and culture unite communities and shape national identity.

From street-side tacos in Mexico City, to seafood in San Francisco and fan culture in Vancouver, each episode shares local stories and signature dishes, alongside two recipes prepared by Adam, which viewers can recreate at home.

Episode 1: Vancouver

Adam kicks off his North American journey in Vancouver, exploring Canada’s multicultural food and sporting culture. He makes Canadian poutine at Granville Island Market, discovers contemporary First Nations cuisine at Salmon n’ Bannock, and joins Vancouver Whitecaps fans on match day at Canada’s most heated football rivalry.

Episode 2: Los Angeles

Los Angeles is a city built on stories, and Adam Liaw explores how the city’s healthy outdoor lifestyle has influenced the way Angelenos eat. From joining one of the USA’s most popular run clubs Venice Beach to discovering California-style pizza and Thai-inspired smash burgers, he uncovers how LA reinvents global traditions.

Episode Three: Mexico City I

Adam is in Mexico City where the locals love two things more than any other – food and sport. Adam explores the ancient island farms of Xochimilco and the origins of some of Mexico’s most popular street foods, before cycling the Reforma and exploring the extraordinary spectacle of Lucha Libre.

Episode 4: San Francisco

27 July at 8.30pm

Adam arrives in San Francisco, a city shaped by migration, innovation and community, where food and sport reveal the stories behind its identity. He joins San Francisco Chronicle food critic Mackenzie Fegan to explore its seafood culture. Then visits the community tryouts for the Oakland Ballers, before catching a driverless car to Chinatown to uncover the origins of fortune cookies.

Episode Five: Mexico City II

Monday, 3 August at 8.30pm

Adam Liaw is back in Mexico City’s to experience its truly local flavour. He visits a famous birria taco stand that never closes, the vibrant “Hibiscus Market” Mercado Jamaica, and joins a friend’s surprise birthday celebration complete with pinatas, Mexico’s favourite tres leches cake and a mariachi band.
