Wednesday nights on the ABC used to be the go to place with ample of new shows. Sadly, it ha sn’t been like that in recent times. With the cut off for repeats being 8.30pm onwards (on and off).

ABC rings in the festive season with the return of A (Very) Musical Christmas this December

The ABC is thrilled to announce the return of the second annual concert event A (Very) Musical Christmas in collaboration with Michael Cassel Group, premiering on Friday 19 December at 7.30pm on ABC TV and streaming throughout December on ABC iview.

Hosted by ABC favourite Zan Rowe, and proudly supporting Beyond Blue, this special television event brings together Australia’s finest musical talent on Melbourne’s glittering Her Majesty’s Theatre stage.

Spend a sparkling evening in concert with show-stopping performances from a stellar line-up including Casey Donovan, Rob Mills and Caroline O’Connor, joined by the cast of your favourite musicals including MJ the Musical and Beetlejuice The Musical, promising an unforgettable evening filled with music, joy and festive spirit.

Also filling the stage with festive season vocals are performances by Angelina Thomson, Elise McCann, Erin Clare, Georgina Hopson, Harry Targett, Ilario Grant, Josslynn Hlenti Afoa, Karis Oka, Marney McQueen, Nick Afoa, Ryan Gonzalez and Sarah Murr.

At a time of year that can be difficult for many, this event is a reminder to Australians about Beyond Blue’s free mental health and wellbeing supports, which are accessible 24/7, right around the country.

June learns of Louisa’s imminent eviction and relays her suspicions as to the perpetrator to Jolyon, who arranges a cottage for her to live. Jolyon declines Frances’ demand to cut Louisa from his life.

Tragedy strikes in Saint-Fiacre, shocking Maigret to the core.

Maigret begins to peel back the deceit and corruption that ruined Sophie’s life. He enlists her son Maurice to expose the villains who have plundered the Saint-Fiacre estate for years.

Back in Paris, Maigret’s conversations with the killer have unintended and terrifying consequences, and it’s Madame Maigret who is most at risk.

Shelagh helps a family battle against appalling poverty and Rosalind comes face to face with an escaped convict, whilst romance is on the cards for Nancy.

A year on from her husband’s death, new detective Ember Manning is called to an arson. The investigation that follows brings Ember into contact with an underaged pregnant girl, who Ember suspects has been seeing an older man.

When a true crime podcaster, in town to investigate a cold missing persons case, tells Ember that the older man is actually a serial predator, Ember finds herself reflecting upon the age difference between her and her late husband.
