The fascinating story of one of the Holocaust’s most heroic figures. Ben Ferencz, the last surviving Nuremberg trial prosecutor.
The fascinating story of one of the Holocaust’s most heroic figures. Ben Ferencz, age 98, he is the last surviving Nuremberg trial prosecutor and he’s on a life-long crusade in the fight for law not war.
After the Holocaust camps were liberated, Ferencz became a lead prosecutor at the Nuremberg war crimes trials. He prosecuted 22 Einsatzgruppen Nazis responsible for murdering over a million Jews. Called the biggest murder trial in history, Ferencz was only 27, and it was his first case. He would go on to advocate for restitution for Jewish victims of the holocaust and later the establishment of the International Criminal Court. His fight for justice for victims of atrocity crimes continues today.
Prosecuting Evil explores Ferencz’s anthem to the world underscored by a simple message: “We must live in a world where the rule of law replaces the rule of force.”

Seven celebrities of differing faiths and beliefs set out on a modern-day pilgrimage in Portugal in celebration of reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary over 100 years ago.
Seven well known personalities with differing faiths and beliefs, meet in northern Portugal to tackle a modern-day Catholic pilgrimage. Known as the Northern Way, their destination is the famous Sanctuary in the city of Fatima, where in 1917, three local shepherd children reported seeing apparitions of the Virgin Mary.
Word of the apparent sightings soon spread and on the date of the Virgin’s last apparition, tens of thousands of people were drawn to the site. What they saw that day became known as the Miracle of the Sun, and the story made the international press. Fatima, once a small village, is now one of the biggest Catholic pilgrimage destinations in the world.
In this episode, the seven pilgrims meet for the first time in the small Portuguese town of Valenca. With a map to guide them, they quickly get their pilgrimage underway and are soon in the eucalyptus forests of the Alto Minho region where Vicky is ‘caught short’. As they break for lunch, Nabil takes time to pray in his ‘outdoor mosque’.

With Christmas approaching, the midwives move to their maternity clinic and are delighted when their first patient is a familiar face. Life in Poplar returns to normal after the tragic train crash, and everyone unites for a festive talent show.
It is December 1967 and life in Poplar is getting back to normal following the fatal train crash. Lucille (Leonie Elliott) delivers a beautiful baby boy to an overjoyed mother, despite living in abject poverty, and Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter) receives surprising news from the Mother House.
Sister Monica (Judy Parfitt), Joan, Nancy, Sister Frances (Ella Bruccoleri), Nurse Crane (Linda Bassett) and Sister Julienne look forward to Trixie’s (Helen George) return from Italy where she has been caring for her ill Godmother. Fred (Cliff Parisi) is reminded of those in Poplar who are still affected by the train crash and is determined the community pulls together to help these struggling families. He pitches the idea of a talent show. Violet (Annabelle Apsion) naturally takes the lead in organising.
The baby and antenatal maternity clinic moves to a new premise at The Florence Dean Hall. Nurse Crane and Miss Higgins are relieved to finally receive the keys and it’s all hands-on deck to get it ready in time for a busy Tuesday clinic.
Dr Turner and Shelagh (Laura Main) are reunited with the Mullucks family who continue to suffer the devastating effects of Thalidomide. Rhoda Mullucks (Liz White) is pregnant with her fourth child and will be under Shelagh and Dr Turner’s care at the maternity home.
As snow falls over Poplar, Nurse Crane and Miss Higgins come to the aid of a young pregnant mother who has recently come out of prison. Meanwhile, Sister Frances’ workload increases due to the team being understaffed, yet she’s forced to take rest following an incident on Christmas Day.

Barry Humphries In his Own Words is a tribute to the life of iconic Australian comedian Barry Humphries, told using only his own words from an in-depth interview recorded in 2015 for the ABC series Stop Laughing this is Serious.
Best known for writing and playing his stage and television characters Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson, Humphries’ biographer Anne Pender described him in 2010 as not only “the most significant theatrical figure of our time … [but] the most significant comedian to emerge since Charlie Chaplin”. Humphries’ characters brought him international renown. He appeared in numerous stage productions, films, and television shows.
Originally conceived as a dowdy Moonee Ponds housewife who caricatured Australian suburban complacency and insularity, Dame Edna Everage evolved over four decades to become a satire of stardom – a gaudily dressed, acid-tongued, egomaniacal, internationally fêted “Housewife Gigastar”. This is the remarkable story of the theft of one of the most iconic paintings in history, Edvard Munch’s The Scream.
Stolen during the 1994 Winter Olympics in Norway, it was an outrageously bold art heist that triggered a thrilling cat-and-mouse caper, involving the Norwegian authorities, the global media and Scotland Yard’s specialist Art Squad.
Only one man was ever convicted of the crime - former professional footballer Pål Enger. Why did he do it and what really happened? Was his motive money, fame or an obsession that’s haunted him since he first saw the painting as a child on a school trip?
Mischievous and profoundly moving, it’s an extraordinary Scandi-noir psychological crime caper.
