Sanditon

image

From Saturday 15 May at 8:30pm

image

Emmy and BAFTA-winning writer Andrew Davies brings Jane Austen’s unfinished last novel vividly to life.

Sanditon’s a place that’s changing fast. This once sleepy fishing village is transforming into a fashionable spa resort. Changing alongside it is the impulsive and unconventional Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams), who swaps her quiet rural home for the intrigues and dalliances of a seaside town on the make. The plot twists and turns as it exposes the hidden agendas of characters whose fortunes depend on Sanditon’s commercial success. People such as the visionary entrepreneur Tom Parker (Kris Marshall), mixed-race heiress Miss Lambe (Crystal Clarke), and charismatic but complicated Sidney Parker (Theo James). Follow Charlotte’s journey to discover herself – and find love on her own terms

The ABC has to repeat this episode of Vera next Friday, surely?

It’s on iView if you can’t wait.

From Saturday 15 May at 7:30pm

The charming and funny series about an eccentric family’s new Life on the Greek island of Corfu.

Louisa Durrell (Keeley Hawes) is as determined as ever to create a happy life for her unruly children in this sun-drenched Greek island paradise. Despite the beauty of their surroundings, money continues to be an issue. Her youngest son Gerry’s growing menagerie of animals threatens to overtake their dilapidated but charming villa. Needing to make a living they start selling traditional British fare at the local food market. But accidentally poisoning the locals might not be the best way to start a new business…

The highly acclaimed international cast is led by Bafta-winning actress Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty) as Louisa Durrell, with the rest of the family played by Josh O’Connor (The Crown), Milo Parker (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children), Callum Woodhouse ( Cold Feet) and Daisy Waterstone (Testament of Youth). Also starring Alexis Georgoulis, Daniel Lapaine, Yorgos Karamihos, Anna Savas, Ulric von der Esch and Errika Bigiou.

Spicks & Specks’ return this Sunday means Grand Designs New Zealand: Revisited is out of schedule. Can it be shown on one of the weeknights to complete the latest series?

It has been replaced by another one-hour special on Prince Philip, who died last week.

Speaking of Prince Philip, the Perth schedule for this Saturday (April 17) is:
7:25pm The Durrells
8:15pm Finding Alice
9:00pm Funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
11:25pm Rage

Thanks for clearing that up because I don’t think I’ve seen any news about that on television anywhere. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
