ABC Radio will have live commentary for all four quarter-finals of the Women’s Asian Cup, starting with Australia v North Korea in Perth this evening.

Edit: commentators for tonight’s match are Clint Wheeldon, Collette Gardiner and Rachel Stowers.

Wheeldon, Gardiner and Stowers are also commentating this afternoon’s China v Chinese Taipei QF at Perth Rectangular Stadium

Ned Hall, Alicia Ferguson and Niav Owens will commentate both QFs at Stadium Australia; Korea Republic v Uzbekistan tonight, and Japan v Philippines tomorrow afternoon.

Looks as though ABC Riverina’s 675AM transmitter is once more relaying the standard NSW schedule including the NRL once more (rather than cutting away for the AFL like they usually do). This has happened in the past (back in 2022), but was changed back after a few weeks.
Remains to be seen if this time it’s a permanent change, or if it’s just someone forgetting to manually change the programming over (which I believe was the case last time). I’ll keep an eye on it.

The ABC will deliver comprehensive live coverage of one of rugby league’s biggest weekends, with every game from Magic Round and the Women’s State of Origin available across ABC Radio in NSW, Queensland and the ACT, and available to stream nationwide on ABC listen Sport.

Commentary team:

Coverage for both Magic Round and Women’s Origin will be led by Andrew Moore and Quentin Hull. They will be joined by an expert commentary team including Luke Lewis, Karina Brown, John Gibbs, Billy Moore, and Clinton Schifcofske.

Zane Bojack will be on the ground across the weekend, providing live updates and sideline colour.

  • Women’s State of Origin game 2

SPECIAL BROADCAST: ABC Brisbane Women’s State of Origin pre-game 2 broadcast

Thursday 14 May, from 5pm

  • 612 ABC Brisbane presenters Joel Spreadborough and John Manning, and QLD TV News Sport journalist Jess Stewart, will host a 2-hour special live broadcast from the Southern Forecourt of Lang Park. You can hear it live on ABC Brisbane, digital radio, and ABC listen Sport.

That’s impossible as he’s already listed for AFL coverage.

The ABC will fly additional commentators from Sydney and Melbourne to SE Queensland for the AFL (Brisbane v Geelong and Gold Coast v Port Adelaide) if required.

Tonight’s analogue radio broadcasts of the AFL and Women’s State of Origin rugby league will not start until 8.30pm AEST, due to live coverage of Angus Taylor’s Budget reply at 7.30pm AEST, followed by the analysis show. The full calls of the AFL and rugby league are available on ABC Listen app and online.

Tune into State of Origin coverage live on ABC radio

The ABC will deliver live coverage of every game of the 2026 Men’s State of Origin series, with all matches available on ABC Radio in NSW, Queensland and the ACT, and streaming nationwide on ABC listen Sport and online.

Live coverage will be led by Andrew Moore alongside Luke Lewis, Matthew Elliott and John Gibbs who will be live at the venue for every match.

The 2026 series begins in Sydney on May 27, before heading to Melbourne on June 17 and Brisbane on July 8.

Fans can also watch Offsiders on Sundays at 10am on ABC TV and ABC iview for expert analysis and all the fallout from the matches.
