ABC News NSW went ever so slightly over time tonight…

Juanita was cut off when she got to “Leigh Sales is here now with…”

Normally they time this so well with only 1-2 seconds to spare.

New background for the Victorian bulletin tonight. It’s Melbourne CBD in early evening from Southbank, with Eureka Tower in the middle.

James Hancock presenting weather in Victoria on Monday and Tuesday.

Was it the “loop” or was it just their start placeholder image begins with (abc news) on it

It’s the start placeholder image with ABC News on it.

Wish they could get a new set and HD in Melbourne. Their current set up is horrendous.

Surely it isn’t too hard to try and implement something similar to what @eddel created in the mock studio designs thread?

All looks the same to me… am I missing something? The title card backdrop always changes.

Maybe that title card with Eureka Tower in the middle was a one off?

I think they’ve change the title cards from time to time in recent times.

NSW regularly changed it up last year if I remember correctly.

Is Victoria the only state which fully spells out the state’s name on the backdrop?

Tasmania too I think.

ABC News ACT always used to be ABC News Canberra until last year’s relaunch given the bulletin reaches into the wider Canberra region in NSW. IMO it should revert to that.

And she looks so impressed with it too!

James Hancock again presenting weather in Victoria tonight.

EDIT: and again tonight (April 19). Looks like he will present weather on weeknights for this week.

Special edition of ABC News Queensland last night featuring Matt Wordsworth in Winton at the re-opening of the Waltzing Matilda centre. Jenny Woodward also presented weather live on location. Jessica Van Vonderan back in the studio with the rest of the days news.

Of note - Matt presented wearing this, due to the large amount of flies outdoors.

There was a feature report on the re-opening of the Waltzing Matilda Centre on the Victorian bulletin last night as well.

“A powerful tidal wave in Kuala Lumpur has killed 120 people…”
