ABC South East Asia correspondent Adam Harvey was injured today while working in southern Philippines. He was inside the compound of the Lanao del Sur Provincial Capitol in Marawi when a stray bullet hit him as he was taking photos of evacuees. He was immediately brought to a nearby hospital for treatment and now wears a neck brace, but he is otherwise OK.

Tonight was Juanita Phillips’ last ABC News NSW bulletin for five weeks, as she’s heading off on long service leave.

Presumably, Jeremy Fernandez will be presenting the 7pm news on Sunday-Thursday in the absence of Juanita. And probably someone like Nicole Chettle for Friday/Saturday?

Just a question, does anyone know when the current style set was introduced for WA, Queensland, NT, Canberra and Tasmania? I know Victoria, Sydney and South Australia started using the current set in early 2014.

I believe that Queensland got it’s current set in 2012, while WA got it in 2013.

ABC News in the other states & territories received their current sets in February/March 2014. Victoria, NSW, South Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory, and Canberra in that order…I think.

Adam was transferred to a Manila hospital and underwent operation overnight to have the bullet removed from his neck. He will make a full recovery but it was a very close call. Had the bullet hit the artery he would have died.
