Not as far I am aware of - he only appears during major weather events or stories.

So odd, as his predecessor did. Would be a cushy gig just doing weather for 7pm local news.

I think they stopped using Paul Higgins on the late afternoon and evening shifts sometime before he departed.

I believe that a weather presenter is be needed in that slot, especially to explain why the day’s weather events occurred (i.e. what is causing a sudden cold front, etc), and to explain what to expect the next day.

Good to see Craig Smart on Late News tonight. I’m not a regular ABC viewer, but I feel like he doesn’t present it too often?

Excellent presenter, experienced and authoritative.

He appears to be the Friday presenter, so I guess he is now also the main fill in on Monday-Thursday if needed. Also does some filling in on ABC Radio Perth.

Maybe I am old fashioned, or maybe just getting increasingly old and crotchety, but I wish Dan Bourchier wouldn’t wear all this jewellery on air. These big rings and broaches add to his already distracting delivery

ABC used to have pretty strict rules about what you can and can’t wear on air, as far as I know. But I don’t think it was ever as strict as SBS not even allowing Rosemary okay Anzac Day, etc. Someone really needs to tap him on the shoulder - you don’t even see female presenters getting around with garish brooches.

Anyway, old mate Dan needs about 10 more years in the field and maybe a stint overseas before he’s close to being a good presenter. It’s a chore to watch.

Tam is really pushing Adam’s arrival hard. Saw a glowing post on Linkedin. And her intro each night has been gushing. Haven’t noticed her ever do that with other weather presenters. Strange.

With Ellen Fanning moving to abc radio in 2025- will she still present Brisbane weekends?

iView page for Queensland now says Lexy Hamilton-Smith, Talissa Siganto and Laura Lavelle will be hosting (presumably like NSW it will rotate between the three).

Bethanie Alderson has also been added to the weekend news roster in SA, joining Richard Davies and Candice Prosser.

As for Tasmania, weekends are now rotating between Selina Ross, Jano Gibson, Lucy Shannon and Alison Costelloe.
