Queensland news presenter Jessica van Vonderen today celebrated 25 years at the ABC.
A brief nod to the achievement, and a visual highlights package was shown at the end of tonight’s news, introduced by Jenny Woodward.

Does Kathryn Robinson have a permanent slot on the news channel or does she just fill in?
Whenever I see her I am impressed - one of the strongest presenters they have in my opinion.
She’s the main fill in during the weekday.
Charlie Mills on News Breakfast feels a bit green still to be the main Sydney reporter, he also just looks like he generally doesn’t want to be there at the start of every cross.
She is excellent. Should be flagship anchor for news channel along with Joe.
100%… more Kath less Bourchier!
Worth noting that Alexandra Alvaro’s name and image has been wiped from ABC News Tasmania’s Iview page, and Jano Gibson has been presenting for the last two weekends.
I’m not sure if she has left or not, but just putting it here.
Usually if they are on long-service leave or something, they remove the presenter anyway.
Monday 26 August -
Ishkandar Razak presenting in Victoria tonight.
Noticed former 7Tas Political Reporter Josh Duggan is now with ABC Hobart.
After nearly 3 years as TVNZ’s Christchurch Breakfast reporter, tomorrow will be my last! I’m excited to be joining @abcnews in Sydney as a reporter / story producer for the 7pm news - starting next week!

Tuesday 27 August -
Nate Byrne presenting weather in Victoria tonight.
Has anyone been doing it since Paul Higgins left?
No one in the past two months before Nate tonight.
Interesting move - might be that after several years doing early starts he might be wanting to do something else?
Maybe they are testing the waters before making any further decisions.
The primetime evening bulletin for ABC News would surely rate much higher and be far more prestigious to report for than TVNZ’s pokey little breakfast show. And television jobs in NZ are not exactly plentiful these days.
JPA is talking about Nate Byrne.
I’d dare say if made permanent, it’s more likely he would do a record earlier in the day and save on a seperate weather presenter. $$
