Queensland presenter Matt Wordsworth did the weather in front of the green screen in addition to anchoring the bulletin. Usually they’d read a VO at the desk when Jenny’s away.

Seems there might be something else delaying this, as I was under the impression she was starting months ago.
The Australian speculated earlier this year that the delay could be due to the Chinese Government’s crackdown on foreign media related to its reporting of sensitive issues like detention of Uyghurs. Also, it usually takes three months to process a journalist’s visa.
Just had a look at the ABC’s annual report from 1996/1997, and found out that the London office was reduced in activity in favour for the former Brussels office. Anyone have any info abut that, e.g. former/current reporters based there, why it was closed down, etc?
China correspondent Bill Birtles is currently in self-isolation in Beijing, after returning from a short trip to South Korea to report on the coronavirus outbreak.
