The QLD, NSW, Victorian and Tasmanian bulletins all crossed live to Barbara Miller in London at the same time tonight - very efficient - I’ve wondered why they don’t do it more often…

Has Ian Henderson semi-retired? He’s barely ever on when I switch on at 7.

Here’s an interesting feed coming from the ABC’s London bureau. I wonder if they realise they activated the satellite uplink.

Melbourne’s studio 38 is being decommissioned.

Why is it being decommissioned if you know the answer to it?

No inside info but major development taking place at Southbank with all television production moving across from Ripponlea sometime next year. So one would suspect some rearranging of current studios required.

Southbank ABC has been extending for a year or so. Temporary studios for a while now.

Where will be the Victorian bulletin be broadcast from while renovation works are under way? Sydney? Perth? The cost of airfares and accommodation will be huge.

Looked like Perth tonight.

Whoops! Apparently this was broadcast on ABC Victoria and New South Wales 7pm bulletins last night.

The iView copies have been modified to remove the offending super and an apology by the newsreaders near the end of the bulletin.

The Canberra, Tasmania and Queensland bulletins appear to have not been affected (iView has the correct super), despite the segment appearing to have been played out live from Canberra. Could anyone who watched/recorded the bulletin from those areas confirm this?

ABC News Special: A Big Mob in the House

Tonight at 7.30pm (NT only) on ABC & iview; then airing nationally on ABC News 24 & iview on Saturday 9 July at 3.30pm & 9.30pm AEST and Sunday 10 July at 12.30pm & 7.30pm AEST.

More than one billion dollars has been spent on Indigenous housing in the Northern Territory by various governments over the past eight years, but in many areas conditions are still appalling.

In an ABC News Special, Jane Bardon looks at what went wrong and what it may take to fix the problems.

The special will focus on three Indigenous communities in Borroloola; Elliott and Tennant Creek where living conditions for some families are third world.

“Infection can easily spread in the house when you’ve got a big mob in the house because the houses that we’ve got are not suitable.” - Heather Wilson, Elliott traditional owner and teacher

Hundreds of new houses have been built in other communities but the programs have been criticised as wasteful, slow and over budget.

Reporter Jane Bardon explores the deep ties that bind Indigenous families to their land but condemn them to overcrowded homes in disrepair;

“Because we’re not going to live in the city area, we’re not going to go to the city area, that’s not our life; our life is out here in the bush. This is where we belong.” - Nancy McDinny, Garawa traditional owner, Sandridge outstation outside Borroloola.

But the situation is not hopeless. ABC News Special: A Big Mob in the House looks at the lessons that have been learned so far and the plans to involve the communities in practical solutions to the crisis.
