I agree. They should bring back the old them. Even if it’s just for the state 7pm bulletins.
Have no idea why they changed it back in 2005… it was iconic.
I thought the opener was great, my only criticism of the closer was it appeared to be Sydney and national focussed. Would have been nice to see a compilation of local faces, eg here in victoria, Geoff Raymond, Edwin Maher, Mary Delahunty, Sue Macintosh, Kathy Bedford, early Hendo and Tam and that’s only the last 40 years!
This graphic was a very early weather graphic used to describe a cool cloudy day forecast!
James Glenday presented in ACT last night, haven’t seen him anchor before and was FAR superior to Dan.
They also used the 80s opening even though the bulletin didn’t begin until the 2000s.
Yeah the final package really should have been local. Seemed jarring seeing Richard Morecroft and Angela Pearman outside NSW - and the NT brief flash was odd.
Really the only criticism of the whole thing, the rest of the 90th celebrations has been great.
I couldn’t agree more. I just watched bits and pieces through iView, He comes across very warm and can take him seriously. Like others have commented before Dan is more comparable to a skit newsreader… I also find him very cold and not very likeable IMO.
Craig Allen must be on Long Service Leave. It’s been months now.
When was this?
Today I assume.
Really. Was Juanita on early?
That was last nights 7pm bulletin
Nate Byrne was reading the news on my Qantas flight today.
Obviously LOVE Nate, but seems an odd choice given the number of journalists around at the ABC?
Juanita is under used in my view. She should have her own hour on the news channel. She’s a world class anchor.
I am pretty sure Juanita did anchor the national 8.PM bulletin on the ABC news channel when it first launched back in 2010.
She did, but end of the day she’s a 7pm anchor, like 7 other people, and that’s her main game.
I’d say she’s overrated if anything. Has none of the warmth and subtle personality of Tamara Oudyn or Jeremy Fernandez.
