But it feels dark and moody
Yeah see this is the thing⌠thatâs how to use it properly. 7 still canât figure that out in how they use it or within Sunrise.
Thatâs the point itâs a nightly newscast.
ABC News has named one of its cadetship positions in honour of Antony Green â who has taken on the grand title election analyst emeritus â the managing director, Hugh Marks, announced at an event at Ultimo last week. It will be awarded each year to a cadet specialising in data analysis, statistics, mathematics or AI skills.
Green has revealed he is donating three decadesâ worth of his personal comprehensive election guides to the National Library of Australia so they can be preserved in perpetuity.
I just saw a âAnalysisâ transition graphic from the previous graphic pack on a story about John Pesutto on ABC Late News. I assume it was edited into the package and probably aired in the 7PM Victoria bulletin.
Way too long spent on Iran/US on the 7pm news. Itâs 30 minutes a day of state news and theyâre still on the first story at 7:15pm with the rest of the days news, sport and weather still to come.
Save these long form reports on Iran for 7:30.
I donât think itâs a case of the Iran coverage going for too long, but that they kept the usual junk generic filler stories in the bulletin rather than the stateâs actual news of the day. Well at least thatâs what happened in Victoria. Unwatchable.

ABC NEWS sets new digital audience record in May
ABC NEWS was again Australiaâs top digital news provider in May with a monthly audience of 13.9 million people, according to the latest Ipsos data released today.
That is the highest audience for a news brand in the News category rankings since the Ipsos iris rankings were introduced in January 2023, with coverage of the federal election fueling strong online engagement.
Average read time for the ABC NEWS website across the month was a high 35 minutes.

Itâs pretty big news with huge ramifications. Sure, itâs ABC News Victoria, but I expect the ABC to prioritise stories based on ânewsworthinessâ over parochialism. That said, when the Iran-Israel conflict story is done, I expect a decent run-down of news from Canberra and Spring Street etc
Itâs time for a national news at 6:30 and the state based news at 7. 30 mins to cover everything the ABC is supposed to is too short and far too often the local news contains barely any local news.
Thereâs no reason 7pm news canât cover local news properly, and News + 7.30 are plenty to cover national/world issues. Itâs simply an editorial choice. We see ABC TV reporters pop up maybe once a week, so people are there to do the work, someone is just making the call not to bother.
ABC the only network playing Trumpâs F-bomb uncensored. As seen in the 7pm package.
I did notice that! It got bleeped on the radio, I wonder what the difference is?
I reckon someone forgot! I imagine there were a few people falling out of their wheelchairs in nursing homes after hearing the F bomb on their beloved ABC TV 7pm News!
