I’m surprised that Harry Connick Jr is hosting the “Industry Awards” (formerly the Industry Luncheon Awards). As they are not usually broadcast. Apart from perhaps a few snippets at best on AACTA’s socials/website.

Now with Connick Jr and Rebel Wilson being involved, at least there is some interest with these awards now from the public.

Says who? :joy:

This forum. There’s usually 1 post regarding hosts of these awards. Now, there’s around 6 posts. A “huge jump”. Lol.

And theres an article on news.com.au regarding this, when usually there’s none.

Sure, there is nowhere as much talk as the Logies though.

But it’s the Australian Golden Globes

I think the AACTAs are closer to BAFTA Awards.

Just wished that the Favourite Film, TV Show, Actor and Actresses were for Australian content… being an Australian Awards Ceremony…

Some dubious choices there. Adam Sandler for Best Actor? He didn’t have a hit in 2023. Just about everyone in the Australian Media Personalities Awards are meh. The Kardashians as Best TV Show? Sigh…
