The winners of the Industry Awards on Monday night seem good. Bluey wins Best Children’s Program, Old People’s Home For 4 Year Olds wins Best Documentary/ Factual Program, while Fisk wins Best Narrative Comedy Program.
As for tonight’s “Main awards”, i hope that Ten do air a majority of the awards - for both film and television awards.
Looks like today’s main awards is a twilight event. The red carpet was held at the Sydney Opera House mid afternoon.
Guests had to wear mask inside while not on stage, as per NSW government’s COVID regulations.
This awards show is terrible. Amateur hour. Not remotely entertaining.
Tonight’s show is meant to be on the same level of presentation as BAFTA Awards.
Did Ch10 cut out some of the awards. I’m sure I didn’t see the announcement of Anna Torv getting best actress in a drama or kitty Flanagan winning for Fisk.
Telecast finished at 9.28pm.
Good winners overall.
Nitram dominated the film awards, while The Newsreader dominated the television awards.
Some awards were cut from the telecast. Anna Torv winning Best Lead Actress was cut, as was William McInnes winning Best Supporting Actor. But most awards were shown.
I was disappointed They cut those. Weird choice to cut best actress as it is an important award I would have thought. I would have cut some of the reality show awards but what do you expect from a commercial network that has no scripted content In 2022 other than neighbours.
I think Best Direction in Film (Justin Kurzel for Nitram) was also omitted from the telecast. It is also an important award.
Also not shown on TV were:
Best Entertainment Program (2021 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras - SBS)
Best Factual Entertainment Program (Love on the Spectrum)
Best Lifestyle Program (Grand Designs Australia)
Best Comedy Entertainment Program (Hard Quiz)
Best Miniseries or Telefeature (Fires)
It’s quite ridiculous that they cut these awards from the telecast when these are some of the most recognisable people who are winning awards.
Agree. Anna Torv and William McInnes are highly recognisable actors and should have been in the telecast.
Having 2 reality shows shown is too much for the telecast (Best Reality Program and the audience-voted Favourite Reality Program)
It doesn’t cut it when they are they doing so many “Favourite” awards now. It’s like they’re trying to replace the Logie Awards but not very well.
Did they really need to get to Bull repeats that badly?
Nothing to do with 10, they’re just the FTA broadcaster and I daresay wouldn’t have had any or very little say in what was broadcast from the awards or not.
Also the first episode of Bull that aired last night was new, not a repeat but I take your point.
We know that AACTA’s never rate, which is probably why they’re back on 10.
Meanwhile, Josh and Laura Sambono were announced as the recipients of AACTA: Bite, a horror and genre film development initiative focusing on original horror or elevated genre feature film concepts.
They win $10,000 in development funds and an exclusive distribution deal with Monster Picture for their winning concept Drop Bears.
