ACA’s brand resources page looks just as bad…
Found it.
I think this looks quite good graphically - just the motion doesn’t suit the ACA theme at all.
The only real tweak to the graphics I think would be to show the A Current Affair text in full size, and then shrink down to just ACA for the bug that stays on screen - the logo doesn’t quite work in that format.
Mate it was a joke.
Sometimes a /S at the end can go a long way, especially if it isn’t clear if it’s a joke or not ![]()
That’s a terrible cut of the theme too, it’s an outro cut not an intro!
Can see what it’s trying to go for here.
My opinion, the on screen graphic should just say “ACA” rather than spelling the whole thing out.
Yeah exactly, it looks like a poor copy of CNN’s sting.
Tbf some graphics are ugly enough to put me off from watching certain shows/outlets. Not saying these particular graphics would put me off but some other graphics do (cough BBC News cough).
Anyway, I’m so over red being used in news. Far too many outlets use it and it’s all a bit samey. BBC, CNN, Sky, 7 all use some version of red, white and black and it’s all so generic. Let’s see some orange or purple!
I ironically find that better ![]()
The dots! A missed opportunity to rebrand ACA to 9News+!

Thank you. I’d rather complain hard here about ACA’s new graphics (and laugh at them) than put up with it, and, if I have to, will provide another anomaly and more memes. I’m sure some of our other members would also do the same.
Honestly this is just nothing more than 9News but more investigative and in-depth. With the previous look, it was a totally unique Current Affairs show. Now it’s just too generic.
Whoever at Nine in Sydney made the greenlight to put this on air last night. Probably the worst thing
Probably the worst thing
it’s honestly not that bad, it’s mediocre but it’s hardly an earth shattering change.
I was born to complain, and I’m very good at it, but seriously some of you need to get out more.
Consistency is a good thing. Sure it could probably do with some minor changes to better align with the theme but otherwise it’s fine.

I don’t hate it looking more like 9 News - I am one of the few people who loved Nine’s 2006 look where there was consistency across all programs.
However, the execution of the open and studio is just another symptom of Nine’s culture that puts short term profits ahead of long term investments for the audience (look at where Qantas got with that approach) which has really taken over or is much more prominent since the move to North Sydney.
Just to recap: rebuild of the Willoughby news set with outdated screen tech, structural pillars for the building in front of the camera not behind it, no standalone Today set with really cheap and ugly modifications to the news set for it, ugly and cheap Today soft set, ugly and cheap digital backgrounds for Today and ACA, ugly poorly designed and not versatile sports set, North Sydney newsroom not lit for TV, no glass studio in North Sydney newsroom, no upgrade to Melbourne live cam…Am I forgetting everything else?
The viewers barely notice those things. It’s the content that counts not the cost of the sets.
