In a powerful, special edition, A Current Affair will focus its entire Monday program to the story of Keli Lane. Convicted of murdering her newborn daughter, Tegan, in 1996, Lane is currently serving an 18-year sentence. She continues to maintain her innocence but remains behind bars, having become the first NSW prisoner to be denied parole in 2024 under the state’s “No Body, No Parole” legislation.
In Part 1, Ally Langdon sits down for an interview with Keli’s partner of 17 years, Patrick Cogan. Patrick has stood by Keli throughout her trial and almost 16 years of imprisonment, a commitment that he says ultimately cost him his career. He opens up about his belief in Keli’s innocence, and his belief that Tegan is still alive.

In Part 2, viewers will hear for the first time from the daughter Keli Lane kept. Now 25, she shares her story through an emotional letter provided exclusively to A Current Affair. She was only nine years old when her mother dropped her off at school, was taken into custody, and never came home. Remaining anonymous, she shares never-before-seen baby photos of her and Keli, and a powerful letter detailing her plea to authorities:
