Didn’t Nine just re-acquire rights to TBBT, telling TVT not long ago “we’ve got them all now” or something (following 7flix airing re-runs between 2014 and 2017).

I admit I even tuned-in and got stuck into an old re-run the other week. Used to love it, even on Eleven a few years ago.

You’d imagine it’s rating fairly well for 9Go! then (and maybe one of its only those that is judging by its poor weekday shares this year).

Interesting that these early evening timeslots are the ones performing consistently for them, 7flix (Simpsons) and 10 Peach (Neighbours/Friends).

That was back in January 2018, which is nearly 2 1/2 years ago now, back when the show was still producing new eps. 9Go! recommenced airing the old eps in late March that year.

Slightly OT but it is quite mysterious that Nine haven’t aired all Young Sheldon this year as well, especially with their lack of 7:30pm programs in recent weeks. Would seem that it would easily do better than K&K repeats.

I notice too in Cynic’s media release from 10 today that they’re claiming “10 Peach is Number 1 multi-channel in 16-39 YTD”.

This must be the first year since launch 11 years ago that 9Go! isn’t? They used to completely own that demographic, former CEO Gyngell used to comment about it too.

There’s now 3 multi-channels that target that audience, 9Go!, 10 Peach and 7flix. I believe 10’s 3rd one launching soon is too and 7mate has timeslots that target it too.

Nine recently claimed that 9Go is #1 under 40 multi YTD

So they are both claiming more or less the same thing

…is not a key demo, it’s a made-up demographic when one of the key one’s can’t be claimed.

(i.e.) my initial thoughts when 10 first announced Under 50s (because Seven and Nine dominated 25-54s and 16-39s). But 10 are now topping 25-54s and 16-39s with MC, HYBPA, etc anyway.

All 3 networks come up with creative claims to suit them

“Under 40, under 50, east coast”

East Coast is probably the best - translation “cherry pick or the markets we perform the best”

Exactly.

IMO the ‘cream of the crop’ is when a network can claim Number 1 ranking one of OzTam’s official long-running total people or more importantly these days 25-54 or 16-39 metrics, either network, channel or program. NB/ 18-49 seems to have been ‘phased out’ by media buyers and networks? Grocery Buyers also seems to have become sought after in recent times.

“Under 50s”, “Under 40s”, “Over 40s”, “kids”, “east coast”, “out pace”, etc is just made up spin I reckon when they’ve been beaten by a rival in one of the aforementioned above paragraph ones.

Agree

25-54 is broad appeal - often more than one person watching
16-39 is youth - hard to reach
GB is who controls the $ in the house and is big in the breakfast shows

If 10 Peach is #1 16-39s, that means that 9Go!'s “under 40s” figure skews younger - undoubtedly due to their kids programming.

There was a 9Go! sponsor board tonight with one of the older Nine V/O (the ACA one who used to be at 10 in the 90s and 2000s), he doesn’t usually do them,
