7TWO - Programs and Schedules

Animated series Beat Bugs has been renewed for a second season by Seven and Netflix. I hope Seven spread the next season’s broadcast by not showing so many new episodes in one day (the first season aired last week in just four days) otherwise kids will miss out.

###Hairy Bikers – Northern Exposure

From Saturday 24 September at 7:30 pm

The Hairy Bikers are back on the road doing what they love most - biking and cooking. In this brand new six part series, Dave Myers and Si King set off on a proper road-trip, their most ambitious and personal journey yet.

This time they’re heading north, circumnavigating the vast Baltic Sea in search of the most exciting food and some of the wildest places in Europe. It’s a challenge they have long dreamt of undertaking - and it’s particularly emotional for the boys as it marks Si’s return to health following his brain aneurism last year.

Si and Dave revel in the little-known wonders of these fascinating but largely untapped countries whose fates have, for millennia, been linked by the Baltic Sea: “We are closer to the Baltic than many of our Mediterranean neighbours, yet we know very little about them.

The Baltic Sea is surrounded by nine countries which are home to more than 85m people. The Hairies’ travels take them through this magical region, from Poland to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, from Russia (St Petersburg) to Finland and from Northern Sweden (Sami country) to Southern, in their search for hearty home cooking and cutting-edge cuisine, vast forests and sparkling lakes, windswept beaches and flower-strewn meadows, incredible biking roads and - hopefully - a warm welcome.

###Around The World With Manu

From Sunday 9 October at 7:30PM

Manu Feildel is passionate about many things in his life. His family, his adopted home of Australia, his French origins and the thing that is on his mind 24/7: food. For many years, Manu has dreamed of travelling the route of Jules Vern’s Around the World In 80 Days and discovering the food that would have been consumed had it been his adventure.

In AROUND THE WORLD WITH MANU, the French chef attempts to travel all of the countries in Vern’s famous novel on a budget of $20K.

The challenge is on - he can wash dishes, cook meals, even busk to top up his kitty, but he cannot take money, or free travel. Can he do what Vern’s character Phileas Fogg achieved back in 1872?

After a lot of research and planning (well, maybe a quick Google search), Manu departs for his first destination: England. And so the journey begins taking him from Dover to Dubai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hong Kong, Tokyo, L.A. and London.

This is real time, no cushy green rooms or business class airfares; just Manu, 30 days, $20K and lots of dreams of the wonderful food and people he is about to discover on his culinary voyage.
