7:30 from Melbourne tonight. Any caps @TV.Cynic ?
God youâre good.
The discussion on housing featured a lot of raised voices and talking over each other. At one point Sarah tries to control the situation âWeâre not at the pub.â
Monday 5 May - 1 hour episode
Sarah Ferguson presents a special one hour edition of 7.30 after the election, with all the washup and detailed analysis from Laura Tingle and the ABC team
Last campaign Leigh interviewed the then PM on the Monday and Opposition Leader (Albo) was on the Friday Election eve.
Iâd say we wonât get both until later this week.
Albo is on the show tonight.
I think Dutton might avoid 730 this week.
Well given heâs called the ABC âhate mediaâ, I doubt he will be on their anytime soon
He participated in a debate on the ABC so itâs not entirely out of the realm is it?
Heâll change his mind soon⌠he seems to be good at that.
Iâm never convinced that attacking the ABC wins many votes.
Tonightâs show has been pushed back to 40mins.
I wonder if they managed to get a Dutton interview, or PM also?
They didnât get either man.
The five stories from tonightâs episode have been uploaded to the showâs website. They include the highs and lows of the five-week long campaign, Antony Greenâs final predictions, and the history of the democratic sausage.
Thatâs the first time in a very long time, if ever, that one side has not appeared on the show in the final week, let alone the whole campaign.
I think itâs clear, out of pure spite, that Dutton would swing the axe to the ABCs budget if he had the opportunity. Without a doubt.
Itâs not a question of if, but when will he make cuts if the getâs into power - though I doubt he will get the opportunity. Itâs likely the Coalition wonât win tomorrow and if they do, thereâs still a risk that Dickson could shift to Labor and he would be out, though that wonât stop another Coalition frontbencher from making cuts.
Tonightâs 1 hour 7.30:
An hour-long special edition of 7.30. How Laborâs landslide election victory played out across the country. Plus farewell to ABC Chief Elections Analyst Antony Green.
Laura Tingle named ABC Global Affairs Editor
On tonightâs show, Sarah Ferguson speaks to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in a pre-recorded interview. Itâs his first public interview since Laborâs election victory on the weekend.
The Age and SMH report that Jacob Greber is the front-runner to replace Laura Tingle as the new political editor. Greber is currently the ABCâs chief digital political correspondent at Parliament House in Canberra and only joined the broadcaster last year.
The internal shortlist includes bureau chief David Lipson, Melissa Clarke and Insiders host David Speers.
Tonight:
The Nationals have split from the Liberals, ending the Coalition. Sarah Ferguson interviews Nationals leader David Littleproud and Liberal leader Sussan Ley.
