Enjoy the conversation now while it lasts. Not too long now and the whole TV Week Logie Awards conversation here will dwindle down to the point where this thread will be officially closed.
Will you be tuning in for a glimpse of his arse?
Sam was literally a rinse and repeat of last year. He has been good but I think we could do with someone different next year as literally the In Memorium and viewer feedback segments were just repeats of old jokes.
I think we need someone new for 2025. Personally I’d go for Tom Gleeson, he was great in 2019 with his opening monalogue.
Good luck. For many years there was no host because nobody wanted to do it. I think Sam could do a few more before he retires gracefully.
Nope I’ll be busy sampling the new ABC News look.
If this actually happens, tomorrow’s instalment of The Morning Show will need to be classified R18+ for adult audiences - not suitable for viewers under 18 years.
Last year was about 11:38 finish.
You can show an arse on a PG show. Even a G show if it is pertinent.
2023: 11:38pm
2024: 11:58pm
That’s 20 minutes later of a finish than last year!
Wow. You’re good at maths.
Not sure he’d be the right fit for host, a skit or gag or two or award presentation sure
I wonder if The Morning Show will talk about the Logies
Sam Pang made regular appearances throughout the Logies. Even went on stage to accept the award for the Best Comedy Entertainment Program award.
He’s done the opening monlouge before, and that is really the main part. I think he can pull it off.
With all of this being said, should I start a new (temporary) thread where we cover this potential Morning Show segment?
He was the host. That’s what a host does.
Which is great to see. This is what lacked in many recent Logies. A hosting presence.
I enjoyed seeing him pop up regularly, and move things along.
Didn’t they have Dave hughes do it one year? If he can do then why not. lol.
Now that the Logies have wrapped up, thought I would give my thoughts on a couple of things.
Firstly, the red carpet show was a mess - poor editing, sudden cuts at the end of interviews. Felt rushed and still went overtime.
Secondly, Sam Pang excelled again as host - especially enjoyed in own ‘In Memorium’ segment.
Thirdly, there were some weird presenter choices, like have news presenters do the acting awards, and actors do news awards. Presenters need to keep to the time limits.
Fourthly, there were too many musical acts, and they weren’t very good either. Keep it to two - one major artist, and the in memorium.
Apart from that, was an alright broadcast - there is room for improvements, but at least there some good parts.
Yeah it seemed like he hadn’t finished and got cut short, maybe because he’d already won earlier but still seemed a bit unfair.
Also I’d not really come across Boy Swallows Universe until tonight so might have to give it a watch after all the wins.
