61st TV Week Logie Awards 2019

Exactly. It’s the Logies, not the ARIAs!

Who Are They?

A manufactured band whose highest selling single could only make it to 24 on the US charts.

Exactly!!!, I haven’t watched it live for many years. I watch it next day and F/Forward thru adds, the alleged entertainment acts, fluff pieces & long walks to the stage. All over in under 90 minutes.

Why bring in a U.S. group that many haven’t heard of?

At least Delta Goodrem, Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastion are Australian, and have some involvement in Australian Television over the years.

4 songs at a tv awards ceremony? That is two too many.

Id have one “fast song” to break it up a bit, and a slow song sung over the “In Memoriam” segment. And that’s it.

Guessing the people booking these acts (or their family and friends, or someone in high places in Nine or Bauer) are big fans. No other reason they’d be picking them.

Cheap act?

Or maybe the record company pays them to put them in the show?

Have we heard any details on who’s doing the opening monologue this year with Hughesy unavailable?

Surpried Sunrise hasn’t booked them? Never heard of them.

Probably booked to be on Today! :stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t imagine why people say that commercial TV news has become too trivial

Haha!

A story about the dinner menu at the Logies is pretty bad even by the standards of Nine Gold Coast News, long infamous for including trivial news stories to fill up a half hour bulletin…

The menu of an awards ceremony should have never been on the news. At best, mention it in the “entertainment report” in the morning shows.

Usually the Logies dinner menu is revealed in an issue of TV Week after the ceremony has been held. This has to be a first.

It worries me that you know this.

The story also showed inside the 3 penthouse suites - allocation not yet decided - and featured an interview with the GM of Star - it was almost like a Star Casino advert
