And I agree too. Not my original intention to make it that long, and I am changing that.

Of course I’m annoyed at the Facebook stuff. You would be too if your page was blocked for a ruling that didn’t add up.

Also working on that. I did credit ABC for their Afghan footage, and 'm trying to use more of my own footage, as well as stock footage & videos from social media,

Should be crediting that too. You wouldn’t steal a car would you?(

Stock footage is from a free website that doesn’t require credit. And I do credit social media footage as much as possible.

OK, I guess your’re paying to use that.

How is it never possible?

Didn’t say it is never possible. But when you are trying to do a lot of editing & other work, sometimes you miss the credit.

But like all that vision from Adelaide, you’ve ripped that from somewhere? Even if 9 or 7 or ABC put it online, you cant just take it.

And I know that. I am trying to credit. Sometimes it’s hard when you don’t have anyone in SA who can provide it for you.

put ‘courtesy: ABC’ up the top? easy.

If you are making money from the pre-roll ads on YouTube I think you should be crediting the source of all of your footage, unless it is your own or sourced from a copyright-free outlet, such as the one you mentioned.

Some sources that do not have copyright restrictions, eg. US government agencies including NASA, still require the user to give a credit to the source.

Maybe he would steal a car.

I can’t work out why it’s so difficult, perhaps I’m missing something.

I was talking about it being hard to try and get my own footage.

It’s not.

And I’ll say it again, I am trying to as much as possible.

But you find some footage from Joe Bloggs suitable for your story, how hard is it to add “courtesy Joe Bloggs” to your your report?

It’s basic respect of someone else’s work let alone protecting yourself from copyright breaches.

I think Leo understands the point, so I’m looking forward to seeing the credits in the future.

I’ll say it again. I am trying to do it more often. Don’t know why I keep going over this.

Borderline abuse going on here…

Not really sure how critiquing could be counted as abuse.

I’d say it’s some valuable lessons for Leo if he wants to pursue this path as a career.

I get he’s still young and learning, but you don’t want to get a reputation as “the guy who rips off videos” or takes others copy etc. Reputations stick, is all I’ll say.

Nothing that has been pointed out in this thread has been unfair, in my opinion.

Just offering constructive feedback as you did yesterday. Seems like that’s not an issue:

I look forward to the continued improvement and the rather unique opportunity to provide feedback to up and coming content makers.

Cheers mate. I love being able to actually talk to people and get their ideas, something you wouldn’t get with any other network!

All I’m saying is I am 100% taking the crediting issue on board, and I couldn’t agree more with crediting the footage owners. But all I’m suggesting is that it’s getting repetitive.
