2026 South Australian State Election - Media Coverage

Isabel Dayman is hosting coverage from the ABC News studio

Zero graphics other than the live bug and name supers.

interesting 7’s social media had ‘hosted by our own Rosanna Mangiarelli’ on the post, but then it was then removed. I wonder if she was supposed to be involved somehow.

ABC and 7 are streaming online, 9 and 10 aren’t.

They showed footage of her reading out the results from the judging, so I guess she was the “host” of the actual luncheon event, while Rory acted as the “moderator” for the debate.

Ahhh I see, didn’t catch that on the broadcast.

Wasn’t shown on the actual broadcast - what I meant was 7News showed a clip of her

Seven have released another promo for their coverage that reveals their panel will consist of:

Alex Antic (Liberals)
Sarah Hanson-Young (Greens)
Don Farrell (Labor)
Christopher Pyne (Liberals)

“First to declare the winner.”

They could probably just open the coverage with a Labor win

Was Will in the promo? Or Just Rosanna?
Wonder where Will’s loyalties will lie on the night, 7 or FiveAA.

Only Rosanna and Smithson - I guess if Smitho is doing the coverage (including numbers analysis), Will might be reading the 6pm news then doing FiveAA later on (currently their schedule has a blank portion between 7pm and midnight on Saturday).

On 9’s panel:
Charles Croucher, state political reporter Gus MacDonald, former Treasurer Stephen Mulligan, Liberal front bencher Michelle Lensink, and former Liberal leader turned convicted drug supplier turned independent David Speirs…

Not a good look having David Speirs on their coverage, might turn off a few viewers who don’t like the guy (and fair enough)

Lots of weird split codings for the sake of split codings in each network’s schedule.

Nine doesn’t know how to leverage its “9Election” sub-brand, I reckon.

Interesting, I thought it was mentioned Alice would co-anchor but no sign of her in the promo.

They have now added Liberal Senator Leah Blyth, and State Labor MP Jayne Stinson (a 7news reporter up until her preselection).

Has also been revealed in tonight’s 6pm news that Liberal senator Leah Blyth, and State Labor MP (and former 7News reporter) Jayne Stinson will also be apart of their coverage.

I’m assuming 10 will have a local edition this weekend?

No evening coverage on 10 outside of the standard 90-minute bulletin at 5pm due to Women’s Asian Cup final.

So if they’re not covering results, they don’t need a local lead-in.

I meant a local edition at 5pm for Adelaide.
