out of 7… and every other pollster and commentator and person in the street?
On paper a winner might be clear early on, however, there will still be a lot of discussion about where the Liberals are losing votes, and where those votes are going to + if polls are correct about One Nation picking up a large share.
They can also check in on the upper house count if they need to fill in time as well.
During the campaign, the Friday edition of ABC News will be extended to 35 minutes.
Pointless, just cut some of the waffle from the bulletin and give us the local coverage instead.
South Australians can also look forward to Election Announcements on ABC TV at approx 6:25 and 6:55 - run time of one minute.
First one scheduled in Libs on 1 March 6:55pm, Labor 2 March 6:25pm and Libs again 6:55pm. On 3 March Labor again at 6:25pm the One Nation at 6:55pm. .etc Greens 4 March 6:55pm
9 News have the exclusive reporter tonight of David Speirs confirming his candidacy.
I’d be very surprised if he gets elected.

ELECTION 2026: SA DECIDES
Brenton Ragless and Alice Monfries lead Nine’s expert election panel.
ABC Radio will be hosting an “informative” Election Forum Discussion including leaders and candidates from parties during the mornings program on Wendesday.
Hans will also be making comedic contributions during the campaign on the Breakfast program.
Both Seven and Nine will start their coverage at 5pm - last time, Nine were the only one’s to commence at 5pm, with Seven sticking with the local 5pm news followed by an episode of South Aussie with Cosi, then 6pm news, before they kicked off at 7pm.
Both will take a break at 6pm for the news, before returning to coverage at 7pm.
Really only need half hour news then back to election at 6:30!
Both Seven and Nine using “SA Decides”.
ABC to broadcast SA Votes leaders’ debate
The ABC will broadcast South Australia’s first televised leaders’ debate, with Premier Peter Malinauskas and Opposition Leader Ashton Hurn to go head-to-head eight days before voters go to the polls.
The debate, to be moderated by ABC Radio Adelaide mornings host Rory McClaren, is being hosted by the South Australian Press Club and the SA Business Chamber at Adelaide Oval this Friday, March 13.
With early voting to open the following day, it will be one of the final chances for the Labor and Liberal Party leaders to put their case to voters before people start casting their ballots.
The ABC will be broadcasting the debate live from 12.30pm to 1.30pm local time on ABC 1 in South Australia, as well as ABC Radio Adelaide and ABC Radio across the state.
In addition, the debate will be live streamed on the ABC Adelaide Facebook page.
The broadcast of the first televised debate is part of the ABC’s comprehensive coverage of the South Australian campaign ahead of the March 21 election.
On election night, the ABC’s Rory McClaren, Emma Rebellato and Stephanie Richards – along with the ABC’s Chief Election Analyst Casey Briggs – will break down the results as they happen, with coverage live from Adelaide.
Joining our South Australian expert panel will be Transport Minister and veteran Labor MP Tom Koutsantonis and senior Liberal Senator Anne Ruston.
The election night broadcast will air from 6pm local time on Saturday March 21, on ABC 1 in South Australia, the ABC News Channel nationwide and ABC Radio across South Australia.
“ABC 1” - seems an antiquated term to use.
A name that haven’t been used for nearly a dozen years.
Just goes to show how stupid it has been that they changed the names of their channels so many times and it causes confusion when they try to explain which channel viewers need to tune into.
Clearly no one from the state branch wants to sit there while the party gets decimated
I think most people would be “what is ABC 1?” ABC 1/2/3 was such any easy to understand system.
