I’m fairly sure those viewers would naturally tune into the ABC rather than watch the commercial coverage.
Yup, no sense this airing on broadcast in other states outside WA. Could easily be on 10 play / socials for anyone interested.

Someone needs to tell Nine that polls close at 6pm, and also, a pretty bold strategy interrupting prime-time election coverage to show the nightly news right as polls close.
Nine and Seven have both been doing this for years (apart from Seven at some state elections where they started after the 6pm news).
Not much happens at 6pm on the dot anyway - first results don’t really roll in until 6:20-6:30, and there isn’t any meaningful data until close to 7pm anyway.
Leaders debate was on Seven at 6:30pm tonight. The Election Needle was based on 25 voters who watched the debate.
