Has there been any word on who will be broadcasting the Australian Ashes tour at the end of the year?
Saw online and on the NRL coverage tonight Fox league and kayo have the rights
Fox/Kayo aren’t saying exclusive in their advertising - maybe the games will be simulcast with 9 like the Pacific championships?
This is the article I find on the net.
As announced recently, Nine will also broadcast the Ashes tour.
It will be interesting to see if Fox League will have its own callers, or simply use the BBC commentary feed.
Unless I’m wrong, I’m pretty sure they have already said they will be calling it.
Well they no longer need to send commentary teams over there anymore
BBC has the rights, not Sky
The full replay of the first test (with the national anthems and BBC commentary) is now available on NRL’s YouTube channel.
So Nine poured in its own effort for almost nothing.
Their call is 9Now exclusive, apparently, even though they commentated the winning team.
The NRL always uses the host feed for their social media content though, as IIRC NRL games in NZ get uploaded with the Sky feed and if it’s a Nine produced game then it’s the Nine feed used for socials in Australia.
This is no different.
Wdym?
