Having threatened to revoke ⁦@CBS⁩’s broadcast licence, Donald Trump now hits the network with a US$10B lawsuit over the editing of a Kamala Harris interview on ⁦@60Minutes⁩. My story for ⁦@10NewsFirst⁩ coming up live.. pic.twitter.com/MXPia0mFtq

Why doesn’t 7 put NBC News Now, CNBC and MSNBC as FAST channels on 7Plus with their long-standing relationship with NBCU

7 has used NBC and CNN resources for many years covering big events like US elections, Iraq War and 9/11 for example.

Looks like all FTA channels have different starting and finishing times for the elections. Here is a summary for the Election Coverage:

ABC: 10am-5pm (with a break at the 2-3pm hour for Parliament Question Time)
ABC News: 10am-7pm
SBS: 10.30am-4.15pm
Seven: 11.30am-4pm
Nine: 10am-5pm
10: 10.30am-5pm

Election Specials that air afterwards:
ABC News (7pm-midnight): ABC Election Special 7pm; Planet America 8pm; USA Votes Special Coverage 9pm (3hours)
ABC: 7pm One Hour News special; Planet America (9.35pm)
Nine: Late News Election Special 10.20pm (1 hour)
Seven: 4pm Afternoon News will probably be 75% election talk.
10: The Project 90 minute special: 6.00-7.30pm

all aedt.

It’s a real shame 10 don’t bother to invest in PR for news & current affairs, if they’re bothering with coverage next week and sending Hugh over etc why not promote it?

Get the news out there or what’s the point. Always seems like an afterthought.

Seven giving everyone a really decent kick start. I wonder why?

Very odd decision from Seven to start that late, and give the others, particularly Nine, a head start.

Although, we can safely say that The Morning Show will be mainly focused on these elections. Possibly to boost up its ratings? I am guessing.

There’s a longer 60 second version of the ABC promo, has this been uploaded?

I think 10 may have had a better promo last time where they said using the resources of cbs and had reporters and hosts mentioned. Nothing this time. No press release.z disappointing. Last time they did very very good coverage. Even their overlay graphics matched CBS last time. Looked very polished and they used their news centre really well.

This may have been the case in the past, but papers (and the media as a whole) of all persuasions have blurred the lines between what is editorial and what is news for so long now that it becomes incredibly difficult to separate.

Was just thinking exactly this, that promo really doesn’t say anything. Lots of the vision seems to be repurposed from their debate promos. They should have really focused on their US resources and having Hugh, Katherine on the ground etc. Hopefully there is more coming to tease that.

How often to we get a news event live on all six main FTA channels? It’s pretty rare.

Last time was the previous US election.

Although all the networks covered The Queen’s funeral, 10 decided to show it on 10 Bold.

I do find it weird 10 is prepared to provide more coverage of the US election than it is of major news at home.

They certainly have a strange sense of importance.
