2024 United States Presidential Election Coverage

Well doesn’t this thread bring out the best in people. :joy:

A politician non-answering a question with a completely different statement? Doesn’t sound like editing, just normal politics to me :ok_hand:

There’s a legitimate issue around CBS editing the answer into two for two different programmes, making it appear like there were two different answers. It was shabby and left them wide open to conspiracy theories, like the ones you are putting forward. The actual editing is a legitimate issue, but you’re amplifying it beyond what it is.

Spare me! There would be an entire thread on here dedicated to this issue if it was Fox News.

No there wouldn’t be - it would be discussed here like what we are doing with the CBS interview.

It’s not Harris fault that CBS decided to edit her interview the way they did - that’s the risk they take when they pre-record stuff and leave it up to the broadcasters to edit.

All 60 Minutes interviews are edited to fit into their timeline. If trump had the guts to do a 60 Minutes interview that would have been edited too. Some of this psycho’s rallies need to be edited to stop his spew of lies and hate. Go find his latest rally at Coachella in California to see how dangerous he is. Sooner he’s locked up the better for the USA and the rest of the world!

Great to see Liz doing more! She’s very much under-utilised by the network IMO. Most experienced on the books now.

Is this really necessary for the ABC to have so many separate programmes for continuing coverage of the same event?

Either for ratings coding, or to give viewers a possible indication of when certain events could occur (highly unlikely it will be the exact times though).
