Final Nielsen ratings for Tuesdayâs face-off between Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic nominee for vice president, and Republican nominee Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, put the debate at 43.15 million viewers across 15 networks. More than 90 percent of those viewers â 40.25 million â watched on the big four broadcast networks and three largest cable news outlets (CNN, Fox News and MSNBC). Preliminary figures had those seven outlets totaling 38.62 million viewers.

Trumpâs town hall was planned for Tuesday in Miami, but now has been rescheduled to Oct. 16.
Kamala Harrisâ Univision town hall will continue as scheduled, with the event planned for Thursday (October 10).

Nine have previously confirmed that Karl and Liz Hayes will be the main hosts, with Charles Chroucher doing numbers analysis like he did on the 2022 federal election coverage.
On Wednesday, November 6, Channel 9 will cover the US Presidential Election vote count with the hosting team of Karl Stefanovic and Liz Hayes. Nine political editor Charles Croucher will join them, crunching the numbers as they come in, along with US political analysts providing up-to-the-minute results.
