Is this a fourth debate? Or is this one of the three that they were always doing?
One of three.
this makes it sound like they haven’t locked in their panel!
Have they locked in their panel? ![]()
I don’t know, but not naming anybody makes it sound like they haven’t.
Was reported that they were struggling to find people since most of the major names have been booked by other networks.
It’s 7 so its entirely possible they’ve been too busy with Sarah’s signing that they’ve suddenly gone “Oh crap we don’t have anyone for our panel yet 9’s going to beat us in coverage let’s put this out and hope we get someone in the next week who we can name!”
Exactly.
7 always seems to have second tier panels.
It was reported a couple of months ago when Nine announced theirs and they had sacked Sharyn that Seven was having trouble getting anyone to sign up for their panel.
The top tier panelists, those who everyone would be chasing, will pick the station that would primarily lean towards their party & also have the most potential viewers.
I think Seven Qld would certainly miss the latter requirement.
Marlina Whop seems to have done a great job moderating today’s debate, but the set up was interesting. Marlina to the right hand side, placing Crisafulli in the centre of the stage. He also seemed to dominate the coverage on 7 tonight, with almost all of the grabs being Crisafulli having his say. Didn’t appear balanced.
the media is certainly doing their best to get him over the line up there.
Have we got any news on Radio Coverage?
I’d expect ABC and 4BC to be covering it at a minimum
ABC at the bare minimum will take the audio from the TV broadcast.
Although given they can send David Speers up there for the TV coverage, I presume local radio can put something together.
wouldn’t they normally? I know here ABC radio and tv do separate programs.
not always. its been a gripe of mine in the past when the abc radio just takes the TV feed.
too many “as this graph shows” or “as you can see here”
completely separate mediums and need to be treated as sucn
It varies - sometimes they do proper radio coverage. other times they take the TV broadcast (especially for some of the smaller states, and if there is sport on AM)
However, given they did radio coverage of the Brisbane council election, I say it’s likely that they will do dedicated radio coverage.
Note: I don’t think SA even got radio coverage in 2018 - radio team instead did a Facebook live party with Ali Clarke and Jules Schiller - they did however as you said, had radio coverage in 2022.
Saturday 26 October
6 News will be LIVE on-the-ground in Queensland on election night from 6pm AEDT (5pm AEST) and rolling coverage throughout the day.
I spoke to a number of people today who believe the tide is turning with Crisafulli still light on details and costings and the abortion debate.
Probably too late for Labor now though.
It’ll be a one term LNP government.
