2024 Queensland State Election Coverage

OK thanks, how do I move or merge my post into that thread? Or do I have to repost it there? Thanks again.

Easier is to delete and repost.

In future, you could PM or tag a mod, but like @TV.Cynic mentioned, if it isn’t a lengthy post, then it’s just easier to delete then repost in the correct thread.

I agree with this, but wonder if this will be received similarly to the MP who said there was a “media beat up” over crime in Qld

Courier Mail:

Fireworks are set to ignite on Sky News as former premiers and 2015 election opponents Annastacia Palaszczuk and Campbell Newman go head-to-head on the desk.

We hear Nine has secured Health Minister Shannon Fentiman and former minister Kate Jones.

The national broadcaster has courted Deputy Premier Cameron Dick – another likely leadership contender – and David Janetzki, who hopes to take Dick’s job and become treasurer.

As for Channel 7, Scoop asked who they’d secured but was told the line-up has not yet been announced and wouldn’t be just yet.

I wonder if Lane Calcutt is busy on the night? He’d have good insight for any channel.

Sky News definitely has the best names unless Seven come through with bigger names.

Is Peter Bettie still around? Would imagine he would be involved somewhere.

I’d imagine many senior Labor heads will be staying away considering the avalanche that is coming. I’d be sitting this one out too.

I’m hearing 7’s QLD election coverage will be made up of a panel of psychics instead.

Expect Mark Humphries to also be involved

Honestly if they did a comedic version of coverage that might actually be a good alternative…

Maybe, @TV.Cynic did The Project’s federal election coverage rate well in 2010 and 2013, both nationally and in QLD?

Do you really need TV.Cynic to provide that answer?

I got the ABC panel 50% correct.

ABC will have probably have one GREENs panelist given the expected surge in Brisbane.

SKY will have the most drama - possibly Pauline Hanson on panel too since as thats the only network she’d be most welcome.

Max Chander-mather is the likely greens rep - he is a worse media tart than newman ever was

He seems to embody the definitive nature of a Greens voter. Arrogant and smug. I can just imagine him in an argument on any election night coverage.

Leaders debate will be live on 9 on October 3 as mentioned by Tim Arvier

I’m surprised the commercials are even interested in state election debates - usually unless it is NSW, the only debates for elections are generally on Sky News, ABC (although I think they’ve stopped doing state TV debates in recent years, but still have many on radio), and commercial talk radio stations.
