He still tends to lean right of centre. He is mates with prominent Libs. He has extreme distaste for Morrison, hence his editorial decisions to pan this wretched government. He definitely wouldn’t be a left otherwise.
Having read it, I would go further than that. Today’s Sunday Herald Sun feature was a de facto campaign ad for Frydenberg - the whole piece was one big opportunity for him attack Ryan, Simon Holmes a Court and Labor.
ALP got a good run tonight. As will LNP when they launch
The Australian reports that Peter Overton and Alicia Loxley will anchor Nine’s election coverage on May 21. Bill Shorten and Julie Bishop will be panelists. Karl and Ally made a pitch to host the coverage, but the newsreaders ultimately prevailed.
Good duo though wouldn’t be surprised if Alicia overshadows Pete like Deb Knight did back in 2019 considering Alicia is a lot more lively whilst Pete is more formal in style.
Interesting choice…
Not again…
I don’t like Julie Bishop but I always feel she knows what she’s talking about. I don’t find she’s just a talking head, when so many other pollies can be. She can be a good commentator. But I’m still not a fan.
Good team. Shorten will be good. And always love J Bish on screen. Although could take or leave Overton. Very overrated.
Yesterday it was Josh, today the Liberal Party newsletter is giving the front page and a double page spread to Katherine Deves
Interesting. So I assume Alicia will be flown up to Sydney?
I guess because Pete and Alicia are kinda a National face, fronting the late news, special news coverages and afternoon news on weekends. So great to choose them. But Karl and Ally would be a better choice if they wanted national faces
Beyond ridiculous.

I’m happy they didn’t choose Karl and Ally. If it was those two, they could’ve just been laughing with each other and acting too relaxed all night, whereas Pete and Alicia will be more serious.
There’s a reason not to tune in. Cosplay matt needs to reveal at the start of the show and during it that his brother owns multiple coal mines.
the only good thing would be the look on his face should the LNP get beat
The third and final leaders debate has been locked-in:
So there will be no national press club debate?
