Kind of funny/sad that someone at Nine bothered to create a 9News | CNN logo animation and it’s still on now despite it not being CNN coverage; they’d have been better off with just the 9News logo.

LMAO! Reminds me of watching very bad cable TV from a dodgy regional US affiliate in the Midwest in the 2000s. Ad breaks don’t like up, audio transitions all over the place. Just LOL.
Edit: what the hell feed from NBC4 are Nine playing? LOL. Hearing producers talking and everything.

Nine could be in trouble with ACMA if they broadcast US-specific commercials that may breach local regulations (e.g. advertisements for prescription-only pharmaceutical products)

Surely it can’t be too hard for Nine to throw to a live shot of the White House or something with a graphic saying that their coverage will resume soon?

Maybe but its past 12am. I don’t think it’ll be too pressing. Also I doubt it would fall on Nine, probably more a fault of that playout centre.

Have to say the Foxtel quality of CNN is horrid. Nine is clear as could be in picture quality wise.

Can’t find the thread now, but it was speculated that the deal Nine made with CNN last year would grant them access to CNN feature stories via FTP. I’m guessing they also have a live stream via fibre as well.

Watching CNN via their website right now - stream goes HD when I go full screen - looks good enough. No actual ads either, all just CNN promos and breakfiller.
