With today’s weather in Sydney, the battle of the 6pm bulletins will be close tonight and at least one of the two should get over 300k viewers - personally I think Peter Overton’s interview of Hendo will be just enough to get Nine over the line.

As far as primetime is concerned…Married At First Sight will probably be the night’s #1 show, Dancing With The Stars is likely to perform respectably (probably beating MAFS in Perth and Adelaide where many viewers don’t like Nine) while I’m expecting MKR to struggle.

Peter’s interview with Brian will have absolutely zero impact on the ratings.

It wasn’t promoted beforehand so how do you expect them to receive extra viewers just for that if people didn’t know it was going to happen?

Viewers aren’t psychic.

Given there was an article in this morning’s Sunday Telegraph, surely it’s not unreasonable to presume there’d be people who might’ve seen that in the paper and wondered if Nine would have anything about Brian Henderson during tonight’s bulletin?!

As far as Nine promoting Pete’s interview with Hendo is concerned, it was plugged at least three times (Opening Headlines + two “Coming Up” bits) during the bulletin and probably even more when the “Alerts” are taken into consideration.

Of course the Weather coverage is the main reason why I think tonight’s Sydney news ratings should be high/close. If Seven News beats Nine in the ratings, go ahead and say that I was wrong (even if questions should be asked about that talking point you hate me bringing up - the quality of weather coverage on Nine News Sydney)!

“Plugged at least 3 times during the bulletin”

Yeah but those people were already watching the bulletin.

That doesn’t get them extra viewers like you’re saying.

Anyways. Difference of opinion.

Monday February 10
Seven’s first Oscars telecast since the 1990s should rate well in the afternoon.

How horribly wrong I was with that prediction for the bushfire concert

Monday February 17
Married at First Sight 1.15m
Movie: Bad Moms Rpt 0.32m

My Kitchen Rules 0.46m
9-1-1 0.49m

Australian Survivor 0.61m
Hughesy We Have a Problem 0.28m

That’s some far more realistic predictions.

I mean if it was Ricky Lee & Samantha Jade, sure.

But it wasn’t Carols in the Domain.

Tuesday February 18
Married at First Sight 1.1m
Paramedics 0.65m

My Kitchen Rules 0.48m
Gold Digger 0.26m

My Kitchen Rules 0.45m

Australian Survivor All Stars 0.62m

MAFS got barely over 1 million metro viewers last night and with ratings typically falling as the week progresses, I reckon somewhere around 950k-990k would be a more realistic prediction.

My Kitchen Rules 0.51m
Modern Family triple episodes 0.28m / 0.26m / 0.25m

Ambulance Australia 0.45m
Law & Order: SVU 0.29m
