2016 Ratings results per city

The official TV ratings for 2016 were released last week with the Seven Network in first place with just over 30% of the 5-city audience.

Nine took out second with 26.7% ahead of Ten with 18.8%, ABC with 17.6% and SBS on 6.8%.

However, the results, especially for Seven and Nine were markedly different in each of the five markets. Nine’s best result came in Sydney where it grabbed a narrow victory with 28.7% to lead Seven (28.0%).

Meanwhile, the biggest winning margin went to Seven in Perth with a 34.3% share, more than twelve points clear of nearest rival Nine on 21.8%.

Ten’s best result was in Perth with 19.7% while ABC rated best in Brisbane and Adelaide and SSB did best in Melbourne.

Perth viewers preferred multichannels the most with a 34.5% share of the audience. They were least popular in Sydney with a 26.6% share.
