I reckon they’ll definitely have Beyond the Gates then too when it starts. That’ll make them the home all of the US soaps.

Yet they don’t really care about the Aussie soap they continue to part fund.

Speaking of, Neighbours has been moved to next to the US soaps on 10Play.

Perhaps 10 should create a new channel - 10 Soap?

Or rename 10 Peach to something better…

And air the soaps there, because i doubt four different soaps would fit in the lineup on the main channel.

5pm: Days
6pm YR
7pm: Bold (fast tracked)
7:30: Neighbours
8PM: General

Surely it wouldn’t be too hard to add the soaps to Peach.

Why not change 10 Peach to 10 Gold.
Then you’d have 10 Bold and 10 Gold, and you market it as 10 Gold - all the golden classics.

Is this another Soap Foxtel has now lost?

Well no because they haven’t had it for years.

Really? Who had then? I thought Foxtel had the rights?

As the article above states, it left Foxtel in 2011.

I don’t think Foxtel or anyone had the rights to GH in the last few years, but t]Fox did have YR and Days.

I think in the old days in aired on 9 for some time then moved to 10. Then it reappeared on Fox then disappeared again.

General Hospital is an American soap opera that first aired on the Seven Network in Australia from 1968. Later it was aired by the Nine Network from 1983, with episodes five years behind the US. By the late '80s, the show was in a slump, and left Australian television soon after but did remain on regional stations. It was revived in 1990 by Network Ten placed in many different time slots such as 11:00am, 12:00pm, 3:30pm and 5:00am. It remained in this timeslot when until 6 June 1997 where it was taken off the air. It was revived again in 1999, lasting less than a year. General Hospital was picked up by Foxtel in 2004. After running for several months on W, the show was moved to FOX8, before being pulled altogether in December 2005. Fans in Australia lobbied hard to get it back. General Hospital returned to Australian television on 5 July 2010, again on W, at 12:50 pm and on its time shift channel W2 at 2:50 pm, with episodes ten weeks behind after the US.[44] W dropped the show on 17 June 2011
